Due to the latest tax duty increase on 1st August, it is with regret the Committee have to inform the membership of an increase in some of the bar prices.
Items involved include bottled beers and ciders, Guinness cans, wines, Prosecco, small and large spirits.
An increase of 10p including VAT will be implemented as from Monday 20th August.
Draught beers are not affected because we do not sell any over the guidelines of 4.5%.
We have tried to keep this to a minimum, however it is a Government legislation and not the club’s.
Congratulations to Carol Philp, Maureen Goldie and Margaret Patrick who won the Semi Final of the above competition against a team from Kilwinning at Anchor B.C. Paisley yesterday Tuesday 15th August.
They now play the final against a team from Glasgow at Troon Bowling Club Thursday 17th August at 1.00pm.
Sunday 6th August saw the annual running of the above competition.
3 groups of 4 teams played 3 Round Robin games over 6 ends.
The three winning teams and the highest runner up progressed to the Semi-Finals. After the draw was made the Semi Finals were.
1 Nieve Cadwell, Dennis Hendren and Stuart Cadwell. V Christine Frame, Stuart Hunter and Russell Frame.
2 May Ferguson, Billy Richmond and Ian Ferguson. V Maureen Goldie, Hugh McKergow and Bryan Love.
The games were played over 6 ends for a place in the final.
After a short break to reflect on good weather and camaraderie, on to the final.
It was Frame v Ferguson, a game with an edge as both of these gents play a lot of games as teammates.
After some good bowling the winning rink of May Ferguson, Billy Richmond and Skip Ian Ferguson proved a bridge too far for the team of Christine Frame, Stuart Hunter and Skip Russell Frame.
The final as you would expect was played in a very friendly manner.

Linda Frew then presented the J Cook Trophy to the winning team on behalf of the sponsor Lowmac Alloys and a celebratory drink ensued.
A special mention to Nieve Cadwell our youngest ever semi finalist and to Billy Richmond and Russell Frame. 2 finals in 2 days, amazing.

The ladies fours from Prestwick B. C. Marion Thomson, Sandi Wallace, Carol Philp and Alison Linich were in action in the semi-final of the Ayrshire at West Kilbride on Monday 7th August. Unfortunately luck was not on their side as they were beaten by a team from Galston.
