Pioneer 79 Swimming Club is a Swim 21 Accredited Club based in Accrington/Blackburn. We have a successful Learn To Swim Programme for swimmers aged 4 upwards. Swimmers can work through this programme into our Training Groups. We have successfully nurtured swimmers through to County, Regional, National & International Standard. Launch of Pioneer 79's new kit - by Swimzi
Liam Tancock, World Record holder and multiple World Championships, European Championships and Commonwealth Games medalist descended onto poolside at Accrington Academy yesterday. He spent 1.5 hours with our top group, 'A' Squad during their training session, giving tips both on poolside aswell as various demonstrations in the pool. Liam Tancock is current World Record Holder for the 50m Backstroke so the emphasis during the session was therefore on his favourite stroke. His input and advice was extremely well received and the swimmers responded well. After the session, Liam, as the face of 'Swimzi', spent time with the swimmers, having photographs with them , signing various artefacts and then did the official 'launch' of Pioneer 79's new kit, designed by Swimzi. The kit will be available for ordering via Swimzi.com (Club Shop) in the next few weeks and will be gradually rolled in over the next 12 months.
