Concerns About Images Results: Adult images in your results

Print

First, enable SafeSearch.

Google Images lets you search with a filter called SafeSearch, which should keep adult images out of your results. (Currently, SafeSearch filtering is available in most languages.) Here's how to turn it on:

  1. Visit the Google Preferences page.
  2. In the 'SafeSearch Filtering' section, select the level of filter you'd like to enable.
  3. Click Save Preferences.

Report adult images if they still show up

No filter is perfect, and sometimes adult content shows up even with SafeSearch on. If you encounter any adult content with SafeSearch enabled, here's how you can report it:

  1. In the SafeSearch drop-down (just below the search box), click Report Offensive Images.
  2. Check the box(es) next to the image(s) you'd like to report.
  3. Click Report selected images.

We're not always able to take immediate action on the images you report, but your feedback helps us improve the quality of our results over time.

If you know the URL of an offensive image you've found, you can submit an image for a more immediate review by visiting the webpage removal request tool (be sure to note the URL of the image, not the URL of the Google results page).
