What is the Google Analytics Individual Qualification (IQ)?
The Google Analytics Individual Qualification is a proof of proficiency in Google Analytics that is available to any individual who has passed the Google Analytics IQ test. An in-depth, step-by-step online course is provided to help you prepare for the test.
Why is Google offering the Google Analytics IQ?
While Google Analytics is easy to use for beginners, it's also a very powerful tool in the hands of knowledgeable users. Qualified users will be effective at leveraging Google Analytics within their organizations and at helping others to do the same.
What do I need to do to become qualified in Google Analytics?
You simply need to pass the Google Analytics IQ test. Before taking the test, however, we suggest that you complete the online course at ConversionUniversity.com.
Who should take the online training?
Anyone who plans to take the IQ test should complete the online course. Even if you don't plan on taking the test, following the curriculum is a great way to get in-depth education on Google Analytics. However, the lessons are not intended to be a substitute for using the Help Center and experimenting with Google Analytics.
How much does it cost?
The online course is free to everyone. The fee for taking the Google Analytics IQ test is $50 USD.
Once I become qualified, how long does my Google Analytics Individual Qualification last?
Your qualification remains current for 18 months from the date that you pass the test.
How long does it take to become qualified?
This is up to you. You can review the learning materials at your own pace, skipping any lessons that cover material that you're already familiar with. When you're ready, go to the test site and you'll be given 90 minutes to complete the test.
Why should I become qualified?
Passing the Google Analytics IQ Test provides tangible validation that you are a proficient Google Analytics user. You may indicate on your website, resume, and on job applications that you are qualified in Google Analytics and have passed the Google Analytics IQ Test. You'll also have the satisfaction of knowing that your Google Analytics skills are complete and up-to-date.
My company is a Google Analytics Authorized Consultant (GAAC). Do I need to become qualified in Google Analytics?
Yes. At least two individuals from each GAAC must have passed the Google Analytics IQ test within the previous 18 months.
What is the difference between being qualified in Google Analytics and being a Google Analytics Authorized Consultant?
A GAAC is a professional services organization that has passed a series of stringent requirements to become an approved authorized consultant. These companies are listed on our Google Analytics professional services support page. The Google Analytics Individual Qualification is for any individual who wants or needs to demonstrate proficiency in Google Analytics. Being qualified in Google Analytics does not by itself qualify you to be a Google Analytics Authorized Consultant. For information on how to become an Authorized Consultant, please visit this page.
How can I let others know that I've passed the Google Analytics IQ test?
If you complete the test successfully, you will be provided with an official certificate from Google that is valid for 18 months. You may indicate on your website, resume, and on job applications that you are qualified in Google Analytics and have passed the Google Analytics IQ Test. Please note that due to restrictions on use of Google's trade marks (and that includes using "Google Analytics"), we ask that you not create your own badges or logos to show off your new qualification.
Training and Testing
Some screenshots on the training slides look different from my Google Analytics interface. Why?
Important functional changes to Google Analytics are regularly reflected in the Google Analytics IQ lessons. Less critical and cosmetic changes to Google Analytics are incorporated into the lessons during periodic curriculum updates.
Do I need to have a website with Google Analytics installed in order to become qualified in Google Analytics?
No, but you'll find it much easier to follow the lessons if you have access to an active Google Analytics account. Creating a Google Analytics account is easy; you can sign up here.
How long do I have to complete my test once I've started?
You have 90 minutes to answer the questions, but you can pause the test and come back to it later. The clock stops while the test is paused and your answers are saved. You must complete the test within 120 hours (5 days) of starting it or the test will expire.
What happens if I fail the test?
Don't worry! You can revisit the training material and re-take the test in your own time. You may take the test up to two times within a 30 day period. You'll need to pay each time you take the test, so it's best to take the test when you are fully prepared.
What equipment and software do I need to take the lessons?
Simply point your browser to ConversionUniversity.com. You'll need to turn on the sound on your computer and adjust the volume so that you can hear the lessons. The lessons are presented in Adobe Presenter, so most computers and browsers should work fine.
Can I download the training?
No, but all content is freely available for you to access online via Conversion University.
In which languages is the training and testing offered?
The training material and test are currently offered in US English.
