Helichrysum meyeri-johannis, one of East Africa's mountain helichrysums (or “everlasting flowers”), adds a splash of color to inhospitable alpine environments. Its daisy-like flowers are pink with a red tinge on the tips, though they become white with age. They can generally bloom at any time in the year.
