Description

A SYSTEM FOR TRANSMITTING AND DISTRIBUTING INFORMATION VIA MODULAR DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS
TECHNICAL FIELD
The technical field of the present invention relates to mobile telecommunications, data initiation, transmission and distribution.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
At present, to transmit and distribute informtion via multiple channels is a challenge. To distribute information via a combination of email, fax, voice call, and the postal service, a requestor has to access the various channels by their respective channel. To access information via email, the requestor has to send an email to the information provider to access and receive the information. Likewise, the requestor has to send a fax via a fax number, a telephone number for a voice call, an address for postal services. Each distribution channel has to be access independently of each other. Although it may be possible to indicate a request in an email for information to be further forwarded via voice call, fax, or postal service in addtition to the email response, it is not processed concurrently. Technically, it is still via one distribution channel. During the course of processing the request for forwarding the information via additional distribution channels creates delays in the response time to the requestor.
The present invention provides a solution to the problem of transmitting and distributing information via modular distibution channels governed by a single trigger code.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
The object of the present invention is to provide system for transmitting and distributing information via modular distibution channels governed by a single trigger code. A system for transmitting and distributing information via modular distribution channels governed by a single trigger code comprising a trigger code for authorizing an exchange gateway to distribute information; a sender-receiver node for sending said trigger code to request for information and receiving said information authorized by said trigger code; an exchange gateway for processing the transmission or distribution of information stored therein to said sender-receiver node via modular channels.
The system further comprises a registered node for pre-customising an action of said exchange gateway upon receiving said trigger code.
The trigger code is a code that is assigned to the registered node by the exchange gateway. It can be cutomized by the registered node. The trigger code authorizes the exchange gateway to retrieve the information from the exchange gateway; transmit the information to the sender-receiver node; distribute said information to said sender-receiver node or combination thereof. It is a code having at least a symbol, a number, an alphabet or combination thereof. It can be a descriptive code. The trigger code can comprise a prefix and a suffix. Both prefix and suffix can have at least a symbol, a number, an alphabet or combination thereof. Preferrably the prefix comprises a set of symbol characters or a reiteration of set of symbol characters. The set of symbol characters can comprise of at least a single symbol character.
The sender-receiver node is any intermediate node that is able to transmit said trigger code, a communication device, a service provider, a server, a modem or combination thereof.
The exchange gateway comprises a communications gateway for information transmission and distribution; an exchange server for processing, transmitting, distributing said information or combination thereof; a processing module for processing information to be transmitted; at least a modular distribution channel for distributing said information via said exchange gateway to said sender-receiver node.
The exchange gateway further comprises a verification module for verifying registration status of said sender-receiver node to determine a need for a assign a trigger code to the sender-receiver node, and a registration module for assigning a trigger code to the sender- receiver node.
The information transmitted and distributed by the exchange gateway can be an email, text, video, audio, graphic or a combination thereof.
When an unregistered sender-receiver node is assigned a trigger code it can perform the role of a registered node. The registered node receives a signal code from exchange gateway. The signal code contains details of said sender-receiver node, said trigger code, the information, time of receipt of the trigger code by said exchange gateway, time of transmission or distribution of information, location information of the sender-receiver node or combination thereof. The modular distribution channels are an unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) gateway, internet gateway, email gateway, short messaging service (SMS) gateway, voice gateway, audio gateway, video gateway, fax gateway, or a combination thereof.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
Figure 1 : illustrates a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Described below are preferred embodiments of the present invention with reference to the accompanying drawings. The configuration of the present invention is not limited to the configuration mentioned in the following description.
Figure 1 describes a system for transmitting and distributing information via modular distribution channels governed by a single trigger code comprising a trigger code (101) for authorizing an exchange gateway (104) to distribute information (103), a sender-receiver node (200) for sending the trigger code (101) to request for information (103) and receiving the information (103) authorized by the trigger code (101), an exchange gateway (104) for processing the transmission or distribution of information (103) stored therein to the sender- receiver node (200) via modular channels, a registered node (105) for pre-customizing an action of the exchange gateway (104) upon receiving the trigger code (201). The trigger code (101) is sent by the sender-receiver node (200) to an exchange gateway (104). A trigger code (101) triggers the exchange gateway (104) to open a session with the sender-receiver node (200). The trigger code (101) is assigned either by the exchange gateway (104) or a registered node (106). The sender-receiver node (200) is a communication device, server, network, service provider, modem, a terminal node, an intermediate node, or a combination thereof that sends a trigger code (101) to the exchange gateway (104) to request for information (103). Sender-receiver node (200) can also receive information (103) from the exchange gateway (104).
The exchange gateway (104) stores, processes, transmits, distributes the information (103) or a combination thereof. The exchange gateway comprises of various modules for executing the task as mentioned above. The information (103) is sent by the exchange gateway (104) to the sender-receiver node (200) upon request from the sender-receiver node (200).
The registered node (105) transmits and/or distributes the information (103) to the sender- receiver node (200).
The signal code (106) is sent from the exchange gateway (104) to the registered node (105) when the exchange gateway (104) receives a trigger code (101). The signal code (106) notifies the registered node (105) that the sender-receiver node (200) is requesting for information. The signal code (106) contains details of the sender-receiver node (200), the trigger code (201), the information (103), time of receipt of the trigger code (101) by the exchange gateway (104), time of transmission or distribution of information (103), location information of the sender-receiver node (200) or a combination thereof. The exchange gateway (104) checks if a sender-receiver node (200) is registered in the system. If the sender-receiver node (200) is not registered a trigger code (201) is assigned by the exchange gateway (104) to the sender-receiver node (200). The trigger code (201) is sent to the sender-receiver node (200) together with the information (103). The trigger code (201) assigned to the sender-receiver node (200) allows the sender-receiver node (200) to be both a sender-receiver node (200) and a registered node (105). Thus, the sender-receiver node (200) is able to execute the task of either a sender-receiver node (200) and/or a registered node (105). The registered node (106) can pre-customise an action that the exchange gateway (104) would execute upon receiving a trigger code (201) by a sender-receiver node (200). For example, the registered node (106) can pre-customise the exchange gateway (104) to send an audio, video, email, voice call, fax, or a combination thereof to the sender-receiver node (200) when the exchange gateway receives a trigger code (101) from the sender-receiver node (200). The information sent by the exchange gateway (104) can be stored in the exchange gateway (200) itself or externally.
The registered node (105) can customize the trigger code (201). For example, the exchange gateway (104) assigns a trigger code (201) of **ABC123DEF to the registered node (105). The registered node (105) can customized and personalized the trigger code to be **F£ELP which can be descriptive of the business of the registered node that is easy to remember. The pre-customized action associated with the trigger code (200) **F£ELP will be executed by the exchange gateway (104) when it receives the **F£ELP trigger code (101) by a sender-receiver node (200). For example, the registered node (105) can pre-customize the exchange gateway (104) to connect the sender-receiver node (200) an emergency call center to report an emergency along with additional information such as to what to do in an emergency. Furthermore, information of the sender-receiver node's (200) location can be transmitted to the exchange server (104) and forwarded on to the emergency call center. The trigger code (101, 201) comprises at least a symbol, a number, an alphabet, or a combination thereof. Furthermore the trigger code (101, 201) can comprise of a prefix and a suffix. The prefix has at least a symbol, a number, an alphabet, or a combination thereof. The prefix can comprise a set of symbol characters or a reiteration of the set of symbol characters. Preferably, the set of symbol characters comprise of at least a single symbol character. A preferred embodiment of the prefix begins with **, but is not limited to such.
The suffix has at least a symbol, a number, an alphabet, or a combination thereof. The suffix preferably comprise of alphabets and/or numbers that are descriptive and/or personalized. For example, a manufacturer of a computer hardware may want to customise the trigger code (101, 201) to have a suffix of COMPUTER; for example "COMPUTER that identifies their business. The exchange gateway (104) comprises a communications gateway for information transmission and distribution; an exchange server for processing, transmitting or distributing information or a combination thereof; a processing module for processing data to be transmitted and at least a modular distribution channels for distributing the data from the exchange gateway (104) to the sender-receiver node (200). The exchange gateway (104) further comprises a verification and a registration module for verifying registration status of the sender-receiver node (200), and a registration module for assigning a trigger code (201) to an unregistered sender-receiver node (200).
The modular distribution channels can be' unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) gateway, internet gateway, email gateway, short messaging service (SMS) gateway, voice gateway, audio gateway, video gateway, fax gateway, but is not limited to such. The exchange gateway (104) can transmit the information such as an email, text, video, audio, graphic or a combination thereof via the modular distribution channels. When the exchange gateway (104) receives a trigger code (101), the registered node (105) receives a signal code (106) from the exchange gateway (104). The signal code can comprise of details of the sender-receiver node (200), the information (103), time of receipt of the trigger code (101) by the exchange gateway (104), time of transmission or distribution of information (103), location information of the sender-receiver node (101) or combination thereof.
The following are examples of the preferred embodiments of the present invention: DIAL TO SUBSCRIBE / UNSUBSCRIBE
The trigger code (101) when transmitted by the sender-receiver node (200) can be pre- configured by the processing module in the exchange gateway (104) to toggle perform a pre-defined action. For example, the trigger code (101) when triggerred by the sender- receiver node (200) may be used to toggle to subscribe for a particular service or to turn on a particular pre-defined action in the processing module in the exchange gateway (104). Correspondingly, upon receiving the same trigger code (101) for the second time from the sender-receiver node (200), it will toggle to unsubscribe for the same service or to turn off a pre-defined action in the processing module.
For example, upon sending trigger code (101) ** EWSFEED, it will allow the sender to toggle subscription to a news information service. To unsubscribe and stop receiving of the news information service, the sender would send the trigger code (101) ** EWSFEED a second time to the exchange gateway (104).
DIAL TO REGISTER OR JOIN
The trigger code (101) can be pre-configured by the processing module in the exchange gateway (104) to register a registered node (105) for an event or to join a group upon verification with the verification module in the exchange gateway (104).
For example, when the trigger code (101) **ROTARYCLUB is sent, it will allow the sender to register with the local rotary community service club. The exchange gateway (104) can acknowledge this registration via the information (103) sent to the sender- receiver node (200).
DIAL TO SEARCH
The trigger code (101) when configured by the exchange gateway (104) can be used by the processing module to process the incoming trigger code (101) against predefined keywords. The processing module in the exchange gateway (104) processes the keywords. The information of the search result (103) is sent via the modular distibution channels to the sender-receiver node (200). For example, when the trigger code (101) **DENTISTS is sent to the communications gateway, it will send the results (eg. the list of dentists in the database) in the exchange server (104), back to the sender-receiver node (200). DIAL TO ENHANCED SEARCH
Correspondingly, the tigger code (101) may contain additional alphanumeric characters to further enhance its functionality. For example, **TOURS+CITY will allow enhanced processing, and more specific results (eg. the list of tours in the city) by the exchange server (104), sent via the modular distribution channels to the sender-receiver node (200).
AUTHORISED TRIGGERS
The trigger code (101) sent from the sender-receiver node (200) is passed to the verification module in the exchange gateway (104) and upon processing is found to be from a sender- receiver node (200) that is either not authorised, not authorised at certain times, or not recognized as a valid sender-receiver node (200), the exchange gateway (104) may reject ignore such trigger or send alert information (103) via modular distribution channels or to the sender-receiver node (200). The verification module can verify the authorization of a sender-receiver node (200) to access informaton (103). For example, when trigger code (101) **VERIFYID3100048 is sent to the exchange gateway (104), an unauthorised sender will not trigger any action or it will trigger a message "Unauthorised use" to be returned to the sender.
DIAL TO ISSUE MULTIPLE LEVEL TRIGGER INSTRUCTIONS
The trigger code (101) may be used to execute multiple level instructions through the exchange gateway (104). For example, the trigger code (101) **MAIL+BOB+NOTE4 will enable the exchange server (upon verification by verification module and processing by the processing module) to send an email to a user Bob with preconfigured Note Number 4. This function is not limited to but may have multiple variations and multiple instructions sent through the modular distribution channels in the exchange gateway (104). Similarly, this multiple level instruction trigger code (101) with multiple level instructions can be used to instruct the processing module of the exchange gateway (104) to transmit specific instructions or actions via the modular distribution channels. In as much as the present invention is subject to many variations, modifications and changes in detail, it is intended that all matter contained in the foregoing description or shown in the accompanying drawings shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
