Abstract

A device having a coating comprising a base layer comprising at least one polymer covalently linked to heparin and an effective amount of at least one pharmaceutically active agent, and a top layer comprising at least one polymer alone or in combination with heparin, wherein the heparin is covalently linked to at least one polymer. Further, a composition comprising at least one pharmaceutically active agent admixed with heparin covalently linked to at least one polymer and an antioxidant to stabilize the pharmaceutically active agent is provided herein.
