Abstract

There is described a method of operating a high power high intensity LED at a point at which it consumes optimum power and delivers highest lumens which comprises operating the LED at the point on the voltage / current characteristic curve past the point at which the LED changes from linear resistance range to negative resistance range. There is also described a circuit and control system for use in the method and a luminary assembly comprising at least one array of high power high intensity LEDs operated with the control system.
