Abstract

A method and system for backing up data in a computerized network. Each computerized node of the network determining which data blocks are to be backed up, in accordance to their associated relevant files. The nodes provide continuous data protection by storing substantially all modified data blocks. The nodes further provide a variable quality of service for each data block in accordance with predefined parameters. Backed up data blocks are stored redundantly on several nodes. Data already stored on the node is utilized to minimize required storage space on said node
