Abstract

A demodulator for use in a signal collection system (10) of a Wireless Location System comprises a digital signal processor (DSP), a memory (14) containing coded instructions for use by the DSP in demodulating signals that are modulated in accordance with any one of a plurality of modulation schemes and drop and insert (D/I) units (11A, 11B) are used to interface fractional T1/E1 lines to full T1/E1 lines, which in turn are coupled to a digital access and control system (DACS) 13A. The plurality of modulation schemes may include AMPS, TDMA, CDMA, and/or GSM modulation protocols.
