Abstract

The invention concerns a method for controlling digital sources (UC21, UC2K) from a work station (PT1, PTi, PTN), comprising a transmission of control commands and data (DATA) from the work station (PT1, Pti, PTN) to the digital sources (UC21, UC2K), and a data transmission from said digital sources (UC21, UC2K) to the work station (PT1, PTi, PTN) in response to the commands transmitted from said work station. The control commands and data are input from the work station (PT1, PTi, PTN) on an infrared keyboard (CT1, CTi, CTN), converted into infrared codes and then transmitted by wire path (CL) to the digital sources (UC21, UC2K), and the data from the digital sources (UC21, UC2K) are transmitted by wire path (CL) in the form of signals arranged according to a VGA communication protocol and capable of being directly applied on a computer screen (E11, E1i, E1N) of the work station (PT1, PTi, PTN). The invention is useful for providing protection against hacking.
