Description

TITLE OF THE INVENTION:
METHODANDARRANGEMENTTOREMOTELYOBTAIN CALLER IDENTIFICATION
The present invention relates in a first aspect to a telecommunication system of the in the introduction to the patent claim 1 indicated type. From other aspects of the invention it relates to a telecommunication terminal and to a remote control unit of the in the introduction to patent claim 9 respective 11 presented kind, which are especially designed to be utilized in the invented telecommunication system. From one further aspect the invention relates to a procedure for information transmission of the in the introduction to patent claim 16 specified kind. The procedure is intended to be utilized at the invented system.
Consequently it is a matter of getting information regarding unanswered calls to a certain telecommunication terminal, which popularly usually is called number presentation because the information it primarily is of interest is to get is the subscriber numbers of the calling parties .
It is generally known to provide telecommunication terminals with number presentation equipment, for instance of the type which is sold by Telia under the trade mark Anita®. At number presentation of such kind one only can get information directly at the telecommunication terminal in question, where one by keying directly on this can get information on one in connection to the telecommunication terminal arranged display. On the other hand it is impossible to clear (empty) the telecommunication terminal in such a system from any other telecommunication terminal, which restricts it possibility of utilization. Further there are systems where one from another terminal can clear the telecommunication terminal in question of information. The latter then is equipped with some kind of device which allows presentation of the information in the form of speech, for instance by a synthetic speech generator. Such kind of number presentation is described in i.a. US-5 289 530 and US-6 481 594.
Thus US-5 289 530 describes a device and a method to, from just any telephone, make it possible to inspect who has made a call to the home telephone. The invention requires that the subscriber has a number presentation equipment connected to his/her home telephone. The number presentation equipment either is built in into the telephone, or a stand alone unit is connected between the telephone and the telephone outlet. By calling the equipment, the subscriber can, by a keying procedure order the equipment, by means of a speech synthesis, to inform about who has called.
US-6 481 594 relates to a number presentation equipment intended to be connected between a telephone and an exchange. The equipment among other things has possibility to detect and store incoming telephone numbers which then can be presented by means of speech synthesis . There also is possibiliy to inspect the numbers from just any telephone. By such known systems the problem to make possible for the user of a telecommunication terminal to read the in the number presentation equipment stored information when he/she is in another geographical place than where the equipment is located, is solved. Such a system has the disadvantage to be based on comparatively sophisticated equipment at the telecommunication terminal to be able to represent the information by synthetized speech and possibly also with equipment for access control in order only to present the information to a legitimate requesting caller. The system will by that be expensive and gets as a consequence that the utilization of such services will be limited.
The aim with the present invention is in the light of this to bring about a remote clearing of in a telecommunication terminal stored information regarding received not answered calls with one in relation to known technology less sophisticated presentation equipment at the telecommunication terminal and by that make such a telecommunication terminal cheaper. This has, according to the invention, been achieved by a telecommunication system of the in the introduction to patent claim 1 presented kind, showing the special characteristics of the characterizing part of this claim, by that a telecommunication terminal of the kind presented in the introduction to the patent claim 9 showing the presented special characteristics of the characterizing part of this claim, by that a remote control of the kind presented in the introduction to patent claim 11 , showing the special characteristics of the characterizing part of this claim, and by a procedure of the kind presented in the introduction to the patent claim 16, including the presented special measures of the characterizing part of this claim.
Owing to that the information regarding to the telecommunication terminal in question arrived not answered calls are transferred to the requesting caller via one in the in the telecommunication system centrally arranged remote control unit, it is sufficient that the latter is equipped with the function to be able to present the information over the telecommunication network in for human sense accessible form, for instance by presentation by means of synthetic speech. The need for such a function at the to the system connected telecommunication terminals is by that eliminated, and it is sufficient if these only are equipped to convey information to the remote control in one for human sense not accessible form, for instance in form of electrical impulses . The telecommunication terminals therefore can be of less sophisticated kind without ability to generate synthetic speech, which makes them cheaper and increases the attraction of a number presentation system with remote emptying.
Information regarding received not answered calls would in usual way in the first hand be subscriber numbers of the calling parties, and it can be completed with further information, such as for instance the points of time for when the different calls have been received. Suitably the call reception device of the remote control unit is arranged to receive information from the requesting caller regarding which telecommunication terminal the request call relates to, and it is advantageous that the received information also includes a special access code. By that a check is achieved that the requesting caller is legitimated to clear the telecommunication terminal in question on information. To utilize the advantages of the system, the information is transmitted from the terminal to the remote control unit in one for human sense not acessible form and there are in the remote control unit devices which allows transformation of information to from this aspect accessible form, suitably by the remote control unit being equipped with devices for generation of synthetic speech. The in the patent claim 9 indicated telecommunication terminal and the in the patent claim 11 indicated remote control unit are specially designed to be used in the invented telecommunication system. At a preferred embodiment of a telecommunication terminal according to the invention, this is arranged to transmit the stored information only at call from the remote control unit.
Both the telecommunication terminal and the remote control unit can of course appear in embodiments dependent on the advantageous embodiments of the telecommunication system which have been mentioned. Also the invented procedure can be realized in different advantageous forms corresponding to the advantageous embodiments which have been mentioned for the system.
Above mentioned and other advantageous embodiments of the invented telecommunication system, the invented telecommunication terminal, the invented remote control unit and the invented procedure are indicated in respective groups of independent patent claims .
The invention is explaned in detail by the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment of it with reference to enclosed drawing, which schematically visualizes a telecommunication system according to the invention.
The telecommunication system accordingly includes a special, to the network connected, remote control unit 2, to which the telecommunication terminals 1 which are connected to the invented number presentation system can be connected. The telecommunication terminal 1 is in conventional way equipped with a storing device 11 which stores information about received not answered calls 7, 8, 9, for instance information about the subscriber number of the telecommunication terminals 4,5,6 from which the calls originate and possibly points of time for these. The storing device has space to store information related to a few dozen such calls . The telecommunication terminal also in conventional way can be equipped with a display 10 which allows clearing of the stored information in direct connection to the telecommunication terminal 1. The telecommunication terminals also has an information transmitting device 26 arranged to transmit the stored information to the telecommunication network in a way which will be described later. The information transmitting device 26 is arranged to transmit the stored information in a form which is not directly accessible to human sense, for instance as electrical impulses.
The remote control unit 2 includes an information reception device 14 arranged to receive information of the kind which is stored in a telecommunication terminal 1 as has been described above, and receive this in the form which has been described above in connection to the information transmitting device 26. Further there is in the remote control unit 2 included an information transformation device 25 which transmits the information in a for human sense accessible form, for instance synthetic speech, at which the information can be further transmitted from a presentation device 16 in the form of a synthetic speech generator. The remote control unit is equipped with a request call receiving device 20, one to this connected control device 21 and a call device 23.
The system functions in the following way: When the owner of the telecommunication terminal 1, or anyone who by him/her is sanctioned to get information, wants information about which calls that have reached the telecommunication terminal 1 , but when he/she is in another place than where the telecommunication terminal is located, he/she calls from just any telecommunication terminal 3 a special number which leads to the remote control unit 2. This call is symbolized by the branch 18a of the double arrow 18 and the arrow 19 and is received in the request call device 20 in the remote control unit. The request calling person then transmits information about which telecommunication terminal the request call relates to, for instance by keying the subscriber number of this terminal. Further, the request calling person keys a special access code tied to said subscriber number. In the to the request call receiving device 20 connected control device 21 is checked that the subscriber number in question is connected to this type of number presentation service and that the access code is the one that corresponds to the subscriber number in question, i.e. that the request calling person is legitimized to clear the telecommunication terminal 1 of information. 5 If that is the case, an impulse 22 is given to the call device 23 of the remote control unit 2 which calls the telecommunication terminal 1 and established connection 12 with this. The telecommunication terminal 1 is at that arranged to sense that the calls are coming from the remote ιo control 2 and at that as answer to the call automatically transmit the in the storing device 11 stored information from the information transmitting device 26 via the connection 12 to the information receiving device 14 of the remote control unit which is indicated with the arrow 13. ι> Information is at that transferred in a form which has been described above.
In the remote control unit 2 the information then is further transmitted indicated with the arrow 15 to the information transformation device 25 for transformation of o this so that it can be presented as synthetic speech, which is represented in the as a synthetic speech generator designed information transmission device 16. From this the information is transmitted via the set up 18 to the person who from the telecommunication terminal 13 has asked for ^ the information, as is indicated by the arrows 17 and 18b. By the described system consequently the person at the telecommunication terminal 3 can by remote control clear the telecommunication terminal 1 on its stored information without having the equipment which directly allows such.
Mi It should be understood that the devices of the remote control unit are arranged to simultaneously put through information in the described way between multiple of pairs of request calling telecommunication terminals 3 and telecommunication terminals 1. In the above given description of the invention is mentioned that only unanswered calls are stored in the number presentation device, but according to the idea of invention also answered calls can be stored in the equipment.
