Definitions
- a Utilitarian Model is any modification that occurs in any well known object (tool, working instrument or utensil) that fulfills the following conditions: a) it be characterized by a new form or arrangment given to the original, or, to one or more of its components; b) it results in better usage of the original.
- the Utilitarian Model which is introduced here is based on item b, as refered to above, and was developed based on the magnetic cards widely used by banks, credit card companies , access etc. systems.
Abstract
Request for the Privelege of Utilization Model 'Impresscard'. Patent for the utilization model 'Impresscard', being a magnetic card with fingerprint, which utilizes a magnetic card made of plastic or similar material, and which has a fingerprint affixed by the usage of a thermodynamic system (or similar) anywhere on the card.
Description
Descriptive Statement Requesting the Privelege of Patent for the "IMPRESSCARD" Utilitarian Model.
A Utilitarian Model is any modification that occurs in any well known object (tool, working instrument or utensil) that fulfills the following conditions: a) it be characterized by a new form or arrangment given to the original, or, to one or more of its components; b) it results in better usage of the original.
The Utilitarian Model which is introduced here is based on item b, as refered to above, and was developed based on the magnetic cards widely used by banks, credit card companies , access etc. systems.
The evolution of these cards consits in implementing the u- sers fingerprint on the card, in a pre-determined space, with the intent of restraining any possibility of fraud when using the card.
In the drawing that accompanies this statement an idea is gi_ ven (in 1:1 scale) of a simplyfied form of usage, with the appropriate space for the fingerprint clearly shown. The system uses an optical decodifier of fingerprints already on the big market, and is used to confer authencitity to the users identity.
As can be seen, with the implementation of a fingerprint on the magnetic card (or similar) we are insured of its securi- ty, both for the user as well as the banking, credit, etc. establishment, reducing, if not eliminating, possibilities of fraud or malicious usage of magnetic cards.
Claims
1- "IMPRESSCARD" as shown in fig. 1 is a magnetic card ma de of plastic, or similar, used in banking, credit cards , access, etc. systems, and is characterized by the users fin¬ gerprint any where on the card, inclusive of the magnetic ' band, with the intent of inhibiting fraudes.
2- "IMPRESSCARD" in accordance with claim 1 is character^ zed by a plastic magnetic card ou similar, which uses a ther modynamic printer (or similar) already on the market, to affix the fingerprint. 3- "IMPRESSCARD" in accordance with claims 1 and 2 is cha racterized as being a magnetic card (o similar) with a fin¬ gerprint which is used with a payment access terminal and uses a fingerprint as password. The payment or access termi¬ nal is equipped with imprinted microprocessing and digital ' logic circuit which compares the fingerprints and insures ' the authencitity of the user.
