Be it known that I, ELISABETH HAUPHOFF, spinster, a citizen of the German Empire, and resident of Dusseldorf, Germany, have invented an Improved Washable Covering for Pillows, Feather-Beds, Quilts, and the Like; of which the following is a specification.
The object of the present invention is to provide a washable covering for pillows, mattresses and the like of such a form that the object to be covered will not fall out or move about.
The annexed drawing shows the construction of the invention.
Figure 1 is a plan View of the completed cover without the pillow. Fig 2 is a plan View of the cover before closing. Fig. 3 is a cross section of Fig. 4, on line 8-6. Fig. 4 is a plan view of the cover with the pillow inserted.
Thecovering is constructed of a rectangular sli Fig. 2, of which one end a is arched. The slip is then folded along the line 22 and the sides 1-2, 2-3 sewed together. The slip is then folded along the line 3-3 forming the flap b, the sides of which are sewed to the edges prising, a slip having an arched end, a'flap I) formed at the other end of the slip, the said flap having its sides attached to the edges of the slip, the arched end of the slip being placed over'the contents of the cover, and the a tia ly as described and shown'and forthe purpose set forth.
