To this end, I employ a vertically elongated hollow rectangular cabinet having recessed outer walls lined with peg board whereby various items such as scissors, tapes, rulers and the like can be detachably secured to the board.
The cabinet has a horizontal top with a circular opening. A horizontal spool rack having vertical spool receiving prongs extending upward from the top is rotatably disposed in the opening whereby the rack can be rotated to enable the user to select one or more spools of thread removably disposed on corresponding prongs.
The cabinet is rotatably disposed on a fixed base to permit the user to position the cabinet as desired for removal or replacement of specific items from the peg board.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS In the drawings:
FIG. 1 is a partially cut away side view of the invention;
FIG. 2 is a top view thereof;
FIG. 3 is a view taken along line 33 in FIG. 1; and
FIG. 4 is a view taken along line 4-4 in FIG. 1.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring now to FIGS ll4, a hollow vertically elongated hollow cabinet has recessed outer walls 12. These walls of the cabinet are lined with peg board 114. A horizontal partition 16 divides the cabinet into upper and lower sections.
The cabinet has a central circular opening 18 disposed in the top surface. A horizontal circular spool rack 20 having a centrally disposed vertical knob 22 and spaced vertically upwardly extending spool receiving prongs 24 is rotatably disposed in the opening.
The bottom of the rack has a central vertical recess 26 fitting with clearance over the top end of a vertical shaft 28. This shaft extends axially downward through the partition into the bottom of the cabinet.
A horizontal base 30 supported on squat disc like legs 32 supports ball bearing horizontal turntable 34 which in turn is secured to the bottom of the cabinet. This enables the cabinet to be readily rotatable about the base.
Oppositely disposed handles 36 enables the user to lift and move the structure as desired.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
Having thus described this invention, what is asserted as new is:
1. A sewing caddy comprising:
a vertically elongated hollow rectangular cabinet having a circular opening at the horizontal top, sid cabinet having recessed outer walls lined with pegboard;
a circular horizontal spool rack disposed rotatably in the opening, said rack having a plurality of vertical spool receiving prongs extending upward from the top;
first means secured to said rack for rotating same with respect to the cabinet, the first means including a vertical shaft extending axially downward through the cabinet to a recess in the bottom thereof, the top end of the shaft fitting with clearance into a central vertical recess in the bottom of the rack, and a center disposed knob secured to the top of the rack and extending vertically upward;
a horizontal base; and
a horizontal turntable disposed between the bottom of the cabinet and the base and securing the bottom of the cabinet to the base in such manner that the cabinet can be rotated about a vertical axis without rotating the base.

Claims (1)
