The foregoing structures, while quite desirable, would necessarily have to be formed of double coated stock if all of the exposed surfaces are to bear the mentioned ornamentation, etc., since the exposed surfaces of the upright members II and it are the opposite surface of the exposed surfaces of the base support portions 1 8 and 28. For this reason it is desirable to form one of the base portions such as I! with a slotted opening 88 into which the upright member I! may be introduced before that member and the other member I! are passed through the slit 26. It is thus seen that the previously exposed surfaces of said members are now in back-to-back relation and, therefore, concealed, and that the previously concealed surfaces which form a continuation of the exposed surfaces of the portions l9 and 20, are now exposed. This holder may, therefore, be formed of single coated stock, bearing printed matter only on one face.- The opening 88, when the holder is in use, is entirely concealed, and the outward appearance thereof is the same as that of the forms previously described.

In the form of the invention shown in Fig. 6, the upright members l5 and I6 may be made relatively short and in this instance may be used .for supporting and displaying an article of port an article such as uie bottle B which is adapted to rest upon the edge 34 formedin the upright members and to be held in upright position by the outwardly flared portions 35 of the spaced upright portions 82 and 33. The base support portions i8 and 20 may each be cut away as at 86 to accommodate the bottle, and in other respects the holder may be similar to those previously described.

As shown in Fig. 9, the holder may have incorporated therein a match pack 31 held in position between the upright portions l5 and It". An alternate form of holder in which a match pack is incorporated, is illustrated in Figs. 10 and 11. In this form the previously mentioned flap 88 is extended to terminate at or adjacent the base and is not intended to be lifted for exposure of the matches. Access to the matches may be had by providing fold or score lines 40 and 4| transversely on the portions and 88 and also providing a slot or opening 42 in the portion 48 which connects said members, and pressing downward on the portion 43 so that the portions l5 and 38 assume the folded condition shown in Fig. 11. The matches are now accessible for extraction of one of them and upon release of the pressure on the portion 48, the members i5 and 88 will spring upward to again conceal the matches and in this condition the match-striking surface 89 may be safely used without possibili y auasae of accidental ignition of the match pack by flying sparks or the flame of the ignited match. In

other respects, this form of the invention follows those previously described.

While the invention has been illustrated in several preferred forms of its embodiment, it is apparent that the principles set forth may be incorporated in other forms not here disclosed,-

without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed. Hence, the prior art rather than the instant disclosure should form the basis of interpretation of the scope of the invention as defined in the following claims.

What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. An article holder comprising a sheet provided with score lines and a centrally disposed transverse slit, the end portions of said sheet being passed through said slit to form two coacting article holding portions, the central portions of the sheet forming support members for the article holding portions, and the remaining portions of the sheet forming the base portion of said article holder.

2. An article holder comprising a sheet provided with score lines and a centrally disposed transverse slit, the end portions of said sheet being passed through said slit to form two coacting article holding portions, the central portions of the sheet forming support members for the article holding portions, and the remaining portions of the sheet forming the base portion of said article holder, one of the latter portions being formed with an opening for the introduction therethrough of one of the article holding portions.

An article holder comprising a sheet formed with two central portions having a slot between them and connected at their opposed ends, an intermediate portion connected with each central portion, an end portion connected with each intermediate portion, and fold lines between all of the adjacent portions of said sheet whereby said sheet may be folded to pass the end portions through said slot to form coacting article holding members supported in upright relation by said central portions and disposed at right angles to the intermediate portions which form the supporting base therefor.

An article holder comprising a sheet provided with score lines and a centrally disposed transverse slit, the end portions of said sheet being passed through said slit to form two coacting article holding portions, the central portions of the sheet forming support members for .the article holding portions, and the remaining portions of the sheet forming the base portion of said article holder, the end portions being formed with shoulders having engagement with said support members to maintain the base portion and the part of the support members adjacent the slit, in spaced apart relation.

An article holder comprising a sheet formed with two central portions having a slot between them and connected at their opposed ends, an intermediate portion connected with each central portion, an end portion connected with each intermediate portion, each of said end portions being formed with shoulders, and fold lines between all of the adjacent portions of said sheet whereby said sheet may be folded to pass the end portions through said slot to form coacting article holding members supported in upright relation by said central portions and disposed at right angles to the intermediate portions which nection to stabilize the holder in its folded condition.

In an article holder of the character described and formed of a single sheet, a base formed by two remote portions of said sheet, one of said portions being provided with an opening, amember connected with each base portion and adapted to assume a position normal to its connecting base portion, the member connected with the base portion not having the opening being adapted to be passed through the mentioned opening in the other base portion.

An article holder comprising a sheet of material bearing indicia on one face thereof, said holder being formed with a base portion, an article holding portion comprising two members in contacting relation, and supporting portions for ,the latter, the exposed surfaces of the mentioned article holding members and the supporting portions bearing the mentioned indicia.

An article holder comprising a sheet provided with score lines adapting said sheet to be foldedto form a base portion, two coacting article holding portions, said latter portions each being provided with a cut-out for the reception of an article and formed with outwardly flared article engaging edges, and support members for the article-holding portion. An article holder comprising a sheet provided with score lines and a centrally disposed opening, the end portions of said sheet being passed through said opening to form two coacting article holding portions, the central portions of the sheet forming support members for the article holding portions, and the remaining portions of the sheet forming the base portion of said article holder, the mentioned end portions being each formed with end cut-outs for the reception of an article and provided with outwardly flared article engaging edges.

10. An article holder comprising a sheet pro vided with score lines adapting said sheet to be folded to form a base portion, and two coacting article holding portions, support members for the article-holding portions, and a match pack positioned between the latter two portions, one of said portions being extended to form a flap adapted to cover said match pack.

An article holder comprising a sheet provided with score lines adapting said sheet to be folded to form a base portion, two coacting article holding portions, support members for the article-holding portions, a match pack positioned between the latter two portions, one of said portions being extended to form a flap adapted to cover said match pack, and provided with a transverse opening intermediate its length and with transverse fold lines adapting said latter portion to be folded to expose said match pack through said opening for the extraction of one of said matches.

An article holder comprising a sheet provided with score lines and a centrally disposed transverse slit, the end portions of said sheet being passed through saidslit to form two coacting article holding portions, the central portions of the sheet forming support members for the article holding portions, and the remaining portions of the sheet forming the base portion of said article holder, and a match pack positioned between the mentioned article holding portions, one of said latter portions being extended to form a flap adapted to cover said match pack.

An article holder comprising a sheet provided with score lines and a centrally disposed transverse slit, the end portions .of said sheet being passed through said slit to form two coacting article holding portions, the central portions of the sheet forming support members for the article holding portions, the remaining portions of the sheet forming the base portion of said article holder, 9. match pack positioned between the mentioned article holding-portions, one of said latter portions being extended to form a flap adapted-to cover said match pack, and provided with a transverse opening intermediate its length and with transverse fold lines adapting said latter portion to be folded to expose said match pack through said opening for the ex- .traction of one of said matches.
