2 Claims.

My invention relates to an improved type of golf club portable holder or case, and the object of my invention is to provide individual golf club containers supported on a framework in 5 such a way that each club handle is separated from an adjacent club handle, with the club heads at such heights and relative positions that they will not contact each other when carried in a normal manner.

10 I attain this object by the style of golf club case typically, illustrated in the drawing where- Fig. 1 shows in elevation the complete case opened out and viewed on the inside.

Referring to the drawing:

l represents the main supporting frame on which are mounted tubular club containers 2 25 stitched or otherwise fastened to the said frame I. These containers are attached parallel to the longitudinal axis of the said frame I, pref- The a frame I may consist of two flat members IA and IB hingedly connected with a reinforced hinging strip 3 so that they form two leaves and may be folded as shown in Fig. 3. In order to maintain rigidity and to keep the clubs apart bracing levers 4 are disposed as separators at the 35 top and bottom extended edges of the two leaves forming the case. These levers 4 are pivoted at i on to top and bottom ribs 4A of the framework I and engage at their free ends in a snap fastener or spring clip 6 from which they may readily be disengaged. Pouches l are conveniently attached to the inside faces of the folding leaves IA and IB, and a ball holding pocket 8 is attached on the inner face of the hinged strip I of the case. An additional attachable side 8 consisting of a frame Ill and additional club containers 2A attached thereto may be disposed in such a, manner as to form a third side to the two-leaf case described. This would be 50 fastened by clips or straps to levers 4 or other members forming the case. It is also desired that the case could be made of rigid construction bythe addition of a. third side in place of the said attachable side 9, the said side having 55 either containers 2 or having apertures or open- 'outer face of said foldabie holder, metal stiffings for pockets within the case. Plugs II are placed in the lower ends of the containers 2 for maintaining the correct relative heights of the clubs in the case to obviate the possibility of the clubs heads knocking together. To strengthen the case it is advisable to insert metal stiifeners around the outside edges of each of the two leaves. Fasteners H are attached to the long edges of members IA and IE to hold the members together when folded. It is to be clearly 10 understood that whereas a certain design of case has been illustrated, this is typical of the idea of having individual containers for each golf club, whether they be tubular as shown or merely rings at top and a boot to receive the lower ends of the clubs. The manner of disposition of these said containers or rings is understood not to be confined to that shown in the drawing, but may be varied and still maintain the invention of individual containers for the clubs. I also desire that my invention does apply to any shape of golf club bag, and is not to be confined to any one particular style.

What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. A golf club case of the typedescribed, comprising a flat two-leaf foldable holder, 9. reinforced hinging strip, a plurality of longitudinal- 1y disposed parallel tubular club handle containers stitched or otherwise fastened on to the outer face of said foldable holder, metal stiffeners near the inside top and inside bottom edges of the holder and around the edges of the holder, pivotally hinged levers to brace and spread apart the upper and lower ends of said hinged holder, clips to secure the free ends of the said levers, a golf ball'container on the inside of the hinging strip, means for carrying on the shoulder and by the hand affixed to the outside of the hinging strip, means to secure the two 40 leaves forming the said case together when closed and plugs in the bottom of the said containers to provide for the projection of the clubheads at various levels.

A golf club case of the type described comprising a flat two-leaf foldable holder, a reinforced hinglng strip, a plurality of longitudinally disposed parallel tubular club handle containers stitched or otherwise fastened on to the eners near the inside top and inside bottom edges of the holder, and around the edges of the holder, pivotally hinged levers to brace and spread apart the upper and lower ends of said hinged for the projection of the clubhesds at various levels, on attachable third side club holder membet with tubular club containers constructed as on the other two sides of the'said case, and
