  • FIG. 4 illustrates the retractable back-support and retractable holding rod;
  • FIG. 5 illustrates the movement of the preferred embodiment according to the present invention;
  • FIG. 6 is an exploded view of the belly; and
  • FIG. 7 illustrates the conventional sit-up machine.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Further features, objects and advantages will be evident from the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments of the present invention taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
  • With reference to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the sit-up exercise machine used in sitting posture and functions to exercise several parts of belly provided by the present invention comprises a sit-up chair 1 and an underlay 2 connected to the sit-up chair 1. The underlay 2 is disposed in the front of the chair at the position where user's bottom will be put on, and can be pivotally connected to the chair 1 by suitable pivot connection element or shaft. The chair consists of a back-support 11, a holding rod 12, and an adjustable axle seat 13 which pivotally connects the back-support 11 and the holding rod 12 and adjusts the angle θ therebetween. Owing to the design of the several special angles θ, the users can exercise different parts of belly to realize the beautification of particular part.
  • Underlay 2 is a convex seat consisting of a bottom support 21 and a waist support 22 extending backwards from bottom support 21. Bottom support 21 correspond to the place people sit on, and has anti-slip striation 211 on the surface to reinforce the friction between the underlay 2 and people's bottom so that the exerciser will not glide to other position when doing sit-up. Besides, there is a notch 212 on each side of bottom support 21 for the exerciser to grasp when stopping sit-up or getting up. The waist support 22 is in shape of arc corresponding to the camber line of the waist. When the exerciser is lying, the place of the waist corresponds with the waist support 22, and the design of arc can make sure the backbone will not be injured in the movement and thus avoids the existing problems in sit-up exercise.
  • The adjustable axle seat is fixedly secured to both sides of the chair, engaged with the underlay 2 through a proper fulcrum C, which crosses the waist support 22 of the underlay 2 to be connected to the adjustable axle seat 13. The adjustable axle seat 13 pivotally connects the back-support 11 and the holding rod 12 and sets the angle therebetween. On the top of the adjustable axle seat 13 is a groove 131 with pivot connection element disposed therein to pivotally connect holding rod 12 and back-support 11, which are pivotally connected front and rear in the groove 131 respectively. The back of the adjustable axle seat 13 is on the ground, so when the exercisers do sit-up the axle seat 13 can act as the pivot. There is a gear shift element 132 on the side face of the adjustable axle seat 13 which can set the angle θ between the holding rod 12 and the back-support 11. In this preferred embodiment, the gear shift element is an actuate slot divided into four sections, connected with the side face of the holding rod by coupling element, so the holding rod can glide along the slot so that the holding rod 12 can be adjusted to form angle θ1 (35°-45°), θ2 (55°-65°), θ3 (65°-75°) and θ4 (80°-95°), as illustrated in FIG. 3.
  • With reference to FIG. 4, The back-support 11 is a retractable hub body in shape of Π, and there are joints at the bottom of both sides connecting with the adjustable axle seat 13 by pivot connection element, and a head-rest 111 that supports the neck of the exerciser at the top of the back-support 11; in this embodiment the head-rest is a cavernous body; also, as illustrated in FIG. 3, the back-support can adjust its length according to the height or the length of the upper part of the body of the exerciser to meet their needs adaptively.
  • Further, referred as FIG. 4, the holding rod 12 is a retractable curved support rod, comprising a retractable rod 121 and a lateral grip 122; the bottom end of the retractable rod 121 is pivotally connected with the adjustable axle seat 13 and the distal end of the holding rod 12 bends inward to form a lateral grip 122 for the exerciser to hold and press; as illustrated in FIG. 3, the retractable rod 121 can adjust its length according to the length of the arm of the exerciser to meet their needs adaptively.
  • The exerciser can sit on the underlay 2 in sitting posture and adjust the angle between the back-support 11 and the holding rod 12 to a proper degree with the adjustable axle seat 13, with the upper part of the body lying against the back-support 11 and the hands holding the grip 122 of the holding rod 12, with the adjustable axle seat 13 as the pivot, to let the upper part of the body move toward the lower part of the body to do sit-up exercise, as illustrated in FIG. 5.
  • As illustrated in FIG. 3 and FIG. 6, the belly 3 is divided into four sections, from the above they are the first section 31, the second section 32, the third section 33 and the fourth section 34 of belly. When the adjustable axle seat 13 sets the angle θ between the back-support 11 and the holding rod 12 to the degree of θ1 (35-45), the exerciser can do exercise aiming at the beautification of the first section 31 of belly; when the angle is θ2 (55°-65°), the exerciser can do exercise aiming at the beautification of the second section 32 of belly; when the angle is θ3 (65°-75°), the exerciser can do exercise aiming at the beautification of the third section 33 of belly; when the angle is θ4 (80°-95°), the exerciser can do exercise aiming at the beautification of the fourth section 34 of belly.
  • The preferred embodiment disclosed is only for illustrating the present invention, and not for giving any limitation to the scope of the present invention. It will be apparent to those skilled in this art that various modifications or changes can be made to the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of this invention. Accordingly, all such modifications and changes also fall within the scope of protection of the appended claims.
