Abstract

An article of manufacture that allows the consumer to display golf balls within the table. The GOLFEE Table utilizes a shelf that attaches to a side wall within the body of the table. The side wall is attached to the underside of the top of the table. The golf ball shelf extends horizontally away from the side wall. The golf ball shelf holds each golf ball equally separated from each side wall. The GOLFEE Table is unique in the way the shelf is designed and attached to the table. The GOLFEE Table is an alternative way to display golf balls rather than utilizing a vertical wall-mounted unit. The golf balls are situated in the golf ball shelf within the body of the table.

Description

    CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application is based on provisional application Ser. No. 60/539,135, filed on Jan. 26, 2004.
  • STATEMENT REGARDING FEDERALLY SPONSORED RESEARCH OR DEVELOPMENT

  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates generally to the field of furniture and more specifically to an article of manufacture that allows the consumer to display golf balls within the table utilizing the golf ball shelf.
  • The history of The GOLFEE Table was designed and created in part due to the observation of other “shadowbox” tables. The golf ball shelf was designed to add a creative and unique way of displaying the golf balls but allowing the body of the table to remain open.
  • Inventions:
  • Currently, a table is in the process of being patented that displays the golf balls nestled within the body of the table without a opening in the middle (true shadowbox design).
  • Similar Ways:
  • There are a few ways to display golf balls currently on the market. Examples: wall-mounted unit, lamp, clock, etc.
  • Shortcomings/Inadequacies:
  • The golf ball shelf allows for an opening within the body of the table. This has not been achieved before within a table
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary object of the invention is The GOLFEE Table provides an excellent way of displaying golf balls within a table.
  • Another object of the invention is each golf ball is equally separated within the shelf of the table.
  • Another object of the invention is a great alternative to the traditional vertical wall mounted unit.
  • A further object of the invention is The GOLFEE Table is not only a display case for golf balls, but also a table as well.
  • Yet another object of the invention is the consumer receives a better perspective of each logo ball arranged horizontally within the shelf of the table.
  • Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following descriptions, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, an embodiment of the present invention is disclosed.
  • In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed an article of manufacture that allows the consumer to display golf balls within the table. The GOLFEE Table utilizes a shelf that attaches to a side wall within the body of the table. The side wall is attached to the underside of the top of the table. The golf ball shelf extends horizontally away from the side wall. The golf ball shelf holds each golf ball equally separated, and The GOLFEE Table is unique in the way the shelf is designed and attached to the table.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The drawings constitute a part of this specification and include exemplary embodiments to the invention, which may be embodied in various forms. It is to be understood that in some instances various aspects of the invention may be shown exaggerated or enlarged to facilitate an understanding of the invention.
  • FIG. A is a Top View of the invention—The GOLFEE Table

  • FIG. H is a 3-D View (Entire Table) of the invention—The GOLFEE Table
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein. It is to be understood, however, that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or manner.
  • Description of The GOLFEE Table:
  • The article of manufacture is as follows:
  • FIG. A—Top View
  • The top of this particular table is made from one solid piece of wood. It is cut in the shape of a rectangle which the middle of the piece is routed out to allow for the glass (¼″) and side walls (underneath the top).
  • Measurements for particular style of table—21 7/16″×24⅝″ (see FIG. A)
  • FIG. B−Bottom View—Side Walls (Qty. 4)
  • The side walls are the beginning of the golf ball shelf. Each wall is screwed to the underside of the top, aligned straight underneath the inside of the middle of table.
  • Measurements for particular style of table—
  • 12 7/16″×¾″×1 9/16″
  • 19⅞″×¾″×1 9/16″
  • (see FIG. B)
  • FIG. C—Cross-Section View—Side Wall
  • This cross-section drawing depicts the side wall connected to the underside of the top of the table. It then portrays the golf ball shelf connected to the bottom of the side wall. Each piece is attached by screws.
  • Measurements for particular style of table—(see FIG. C for all measurements)
  • FIG. D—Bottom View—Golf Ball Shelf
  • The golf ball shelf is the essential part of the table. The piece of wood is screwed into the underside of each sidewall which then extends horizontally into the body of the table. The golf ball shelf description is a solid piece of wood cut into a rectangle with which the middle is cut out. In order to properly display the golf balls, holes are cut into the shelf to allow for the size of a golf ball. The golf ball holes are separated equally from each other and from the side walls (Golf Balls shown in drawing are not the actual number per each side of the golf ball shelf). This unique way of displaying the golf balls is the vital part of the patent application.
  • Measurements for particular style of table—(see FIG. D for all measurements)
  • FIG. E—Bottom View—Corner of Golf Ball Shelf
  • The corner view gives all the measurements involved in spacing the golf balls from the side wall and from each other.
  • Measurements for particular style of table—(see FIG. E for all measurements)
  • FIG. F—Bottom View—Side Board (Qty. 4)
  • The side boards are attached to the underside of the top of the table in order to cover the middle of the table. Each side board is attached utilizing pocket-joinery on the interior of the side board to the underside of the top of the table.
  • Measurements for particular style of table—(see FIG. F for all measurements)
  • FIG. G—Side View—Table Leg (Qty. 4)
  • The table legs are attached to the side boards utilizing metal brackets attached to the interior of each side board. The legs taper from the top to the bottom. The table legs use a bolt and nut to connect the leg to each metal bracket.
  • Measurements for particular style of table—(see FIG. G for all measurements)
  • FIG. H—3-D View (Entire Table)
  • This drawing represents all of the parts involved in the table. It shows in order how each piece should attach.
  • Measurements for particular style of table—(see FIGS. A,B,C,D,E,F, and G)
  • While the invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment, it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to the particular form set forth, but on the contrary, it is intended to cover such alternatives, modifications, and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
