Abstract

A golf club handle grip includes a tubular body with an opening defined in an end of the tubular body for extension of a golf club handle and a slip proof portion provided on an outer periphery of the tubular body. With the slip proof portion on the outer periphery of the tubular body, the user is able to securely hold the golf club handle.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a handle grip, and more particularly to a golf club handle grip to enable the user to securely grip the handle without slipping while playing golf.
2. Description of Related Art
Currently, a golf club handle is equipped with a handle grip to enable the user to securely hold the golf club handle so as to facilitate striking the golf ball accurately. With reference to FIG. 1, a conventional golf club handle grip (9) made of resilient material has a centrally defined passage (not numbered) to allow extension of the golf club handle, a smooth outer periphery (91) to increase the touch to the handle grip by the user and multiple recesses (92) defined in the smooth outer periphery (91). When the user is playing golf on sunny days, holding the golf club tightly becomes very difficult because the user's sweat will lubricate the smooth outer periphery (91) and make the smooth outer periphery (91) slippery. Due to the slippery outer periphery, the user is not able to strike the golf ball accurately.
To overcome the shortcoming, the present invention tends to provide an improved golf club handle grip to mitigate the aforementioned problem.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved golf club handle grip to increase friction between the user's hands and the outer periphery of the handle grip.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide multiple protrusions on the outer periphery of the handle grip.
Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional handle grip;
FIG. 2 is a schematic perspective view of the tubular body of the present invention;
FIG. 3 is schematic structural view of the handle grip of the present invention; and
FIG. 4 is an enlargement side plan view of a portion of the handle grip in FIG. 3.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference to FIGS. 2-4, the golf club handle grip in accordance with the present invention includes a tubular body (1) and a slip proof portion (2) formed on an outer periphery (11) of the tubular body (1). The tubular body (1) has a large-diameter end and a small-diameter end provided with an opening (10) to allow an extension of a golf club handle (not shown).
The slip proof portion (2) is made of rubber and has a thread (21) helically mounted around the outer periphery (11) of the tubular body (1) via an adhesive agent (not shown). Thus multiple ridges (22) and valleys (23) are formed on the slip proof portion (2). With the ridges (22) and valleys (23), the user is able to tightly hold the handle grip without worry that the golf club might slip off while swinging the golf club.
Further, the slip proof portion (2) may be integrally formed with the outer periphery (11) of the tubular body (1) so that the outer periphery (11) of the tubular body (1) has multiple ridges (22) and valleys (23) formed on the outer periphery (11) of the tubular body (1).
Thus with the ridges (22) and valleys (23), the user is able to securely hold the golf club handle even when the user's palms are sweating.
It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims

1. A golf club handle grip comprising:

a tubular body with an opening defined in an end of the tubular body for extension of a golf club handle; and

a slip proof portion provided on an outer periphery of the tubular body.

2. The golf club handle grip as claimed in claim 1, wherein the slip proof portion is mounted around the outer periphery of the tubular body.

3. The golf club handle grip as claimed in claim 2, wherein the slip proof portion is helically mounted on the outer periphery of the tubular body.

4. The golf club handle grip as claimed in claim 3, wherein the slip proof portion is composed of a rubber thread.

5. The golf club handle grip as claimed in claim 4, wherein the slip proof portion is provided with ridges and valleys.

6. The golf club handle grip as claimed in claim 5, wherein the slip proof portion is integrally formed with the outer periphery of the tubular body.
