Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The invention relates to playing cards for playing blackjack and casino twenty-one.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Decks for playing casino twenty-one and blackjack are known in the art. The cards used are a standard deck of cards or multiple decks of standard cards are used.
- Each deck typically has four suits of thirteen cards. Each suit has an ace, numbered cards from two through ten and face cards, which are the jacks, queens and kings.
- The object of the game is to reach twenty-one without going over that value. Generally, the player or players play against a dealer and a player's score must exceed that obtained by the dealer without exceeding twenty-one, in order to win a game. Generally, the dealer pushes all ties, that is, there is no winner or loser.
- Typically, the face value of the twos through tens is the value of the card, while aces can count for one or eleven and jacks, queens and kings count for a ten value.
- The present invention is a playing card deck having a series of cards, each having a face and a back for playing a card game. Suits are included, that is, diamonds, hearts, spades and clubs.
- Included are four aces, one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club. There are four twos, one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club. There are four threes, one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club. There are four fours, one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club. There are four fives, one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club.
- Also included are four sixes, one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club; four sevens, one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club; four eights, one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club; and four nines, one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club.
- A major difference between standard deck of cards used to play blackjack or casino twenty one is the elimination of the four tens, one for each suit, that is a heart, a diamond, a spade and a club; the jacks, one for each suit; the queens, one for each suit; and the kings, one for each suit. Instead, the tens, standard jacks, queens and kings are replaced with jacks, preferably all blackjacks with no designated suit, that is, sixteen blackjacks.
- Of course, as an alternative embodiment, the 16 jacks may instead be 16 red colored jacks, a combination of 8 red colored jacks and 8 blackjacks, or any combination of 16 jacks, regardless of color or suit.
- The present invention can be used to play a variety of card games but the preferred embodiment is to use the cards or multiple decks of the cards to play blackjack or casino twenty-one as further described herein.
- There are no drawings presented herein as the description of the elements of the invention are readily understood from the description itself as presented herein.
- As described above, the present invention is a playing card deck having a series of cards, each having a face and a back for playing a card game comprising:
- four aces, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four twos, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four threes, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four fours, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four fives, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four sixes, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four sevens, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four eights, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four nines, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club; and
- one of sixteen blackjacks, sixteen red colored jacks, eight blackjacks and eight red jacks and any combination of 16 jacks.
- The one of sixteen blackjacks, sixteen red colored jacks and eight blackjacks and eight red jacks may have no specific suit; or an even number of suits, including diamonds, hearts, spades and clubs may be assigned to the jacks.
- Although the deck of cards may be used for a variety of card games including poker and the like, the preferred embodiment is that the deck of cards be used to play blackjack or casino twenty-one.
- When used to play blackjack or casino twenty-one, the aces count for a value of one or eleven as selected by a player, the twos through nines count for their respective face value, that is, a two card counts for a value of two and so on through the nine card, which counts for a value of nine. The jacks, whether assigned a suit or not, count for a value of ten; and typically replace the tens, jacks, queens and kings normally associated with a standard deck. Accordingly, the rules of the game of blackjack and casino twenty-one do not change.
- Of course, several deck of cards may be assembled as is generally the case in casinos, wherein a predetermined multiple of each respective face card listed above comprises the playing cards. For example, if three decks of cards were compiled, then the multiple deck would then comprise three sets of:
- four aces, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four twos, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four threes, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four fours, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four fives, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four sixes, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four sevens, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four eights, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club;
- four nines, including one being a heart, one being a diamond, one being a spade and one being a club; and
- one of sixteen blackjacks, sixteen red colored jacks, eight blackjacks and eight red jacks and any combination of 16 jacks.
- As seen from the foregoing description, the present invention provides an interesting alternative deck of cards to play games such as blackjack or casino twenty-one.
- The invention is clearly new and useful. Moreover, it was not obvious to those of ordinary skill in this art at the time it was made, in view of the prior art considered as a whole as required by law.
- It will thus be seen that the objects set forth above, and those made apparent from the foregoing description, are efficiently attained and since certain changes may be made in the above construction without departing from the scope of the invention, it is intended that all matters contained in the foregoing construction shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in the limiting sense.
- It is also to be understood that the following claims are intended to cover all of the generic and specific features of the invention herein described, and all statements of the scope of the invention which, as a matter of language, might be said to fall therebetween.
- Now that the invention has been described,
