The object of this invention is to provide a belt buckle wherein an elastic tensioning means is provided between the buckle and the end of the beltattached thereto for allowing the expansion and contraction of the belt while in position upon the waist of the wearer for thereby preventing the usual necessity of the adjustment of the belt while in use. Another object of this invention is to produce a means for attaching a belt end to this particular style of buckle without it being necessary to retain the spring and yoke parts of the buckle between the belt and its folded back end, and thereby eliminate excessive thickness at this point. By my novel invention the belt end can be attached to this buckle and secured in its natural flat way.

Referring to the drawing in detail;
Figure 1 indicates a buckle body 1, of suitable form such as generally rectangular having inturned flanges 2 and 2a on opposite sides, having inwardly directed ears constituting journal mountings. In this figure the belt connector assembly consists of a yoke 6 formed from a single piece of wire which is having outwardly extending ends which are journaled in the above mentioned journal mountings of the buckle body; the numerals 10 indicate the ends of the wire. A belt buckle of the class described comprising a buckle body having flanges thereon, and a belt connector assembly, said connector assembly comprising a yoke having the ends of the member forming the yoke connected with the flanges of the buckle body, a belt connector having one end carried by theyoke, and a belt connecting portion at the other end of the connector, a spring on the yoke cooperating with the belt connector for resisting longitudinal movement of the connector on the yoke, and a belt engaging jawcarried by said assembly for cooperating with said buckle body for retaining the free end 1 v of the belt;
