It is furthermore an object of this invention to provide a combination gas fixture wherein a plurality of gas heated and controlled applianccs are associated in a compact unit and embrace a Waste heatwater heater mounted in the hood of the gas range with said hood provided with a cover which is adjustably mounted to not only afford aconcealment of the waste heat water heater but to additionally serve as an adjustable means adapted to be extended over the cooking top of the range tocarry off gases and odors.
Another object of the invention is to provide a combination gas fixture comprising a plurality of gas controlled appliances including a gas range and an incinerator having a drawer slide removably mounted therebeneath and carrying both a broiler and an ash pan for the incinerator.
Another object of the invention is to provide a combination gas fixture comprising a plurality of gas controlled appliances including a gas range having an incinerator mounted in the rear thereof and embracing a foot pedal controlled incinerator door positioned in the rear portion of the top of the gas range having a connection with grates which are adjustably mounted within an incinerator basket or housing and adapted to be operated with the opening of the incinerator door to cause a shaking action to be applied to the grates tocause the removal of ashes from the incinerator basket each time the incinerator cover is opened.

The improved combination gas fixture of this invention is of unitary construction to form a sin le article of furniture embrac ing a plum ity of gas fired appliances arranged in compact relation within a box or cabinet 1 supported on legs 2 and having a common out et flue 3 projecting from the top thereof for the escape of flue gases, odors and the like. The upper section of the flue3 rojects downwardl through the top of the fixture cover in the cm of an elbow 4. The inner end of the flue elbow 4'terminates in an outlet chamber 5 provided in a drum head 6 mounted in one end of a wasteheat water container or cylinder 7 disposed within an insulating casing or housin 8. The drum head 6 is also rovided wit a lower intake chamber 9. ounted in the opposite end of the waste heat container or cylinder 7 is a drum head 10 having a. connecting chamber 11 therein as clearly illustrated in Figure 3. Mounted within, the lower half of the waste heat cylinder 7 are a plurality of auxiliary flue pipes 12 which connect the drum head outlet chamber 9 with the drum head chamber 11. drum head chamber 11 with the outlet chamber 5 of the drum head 6. The waste heat water heater is mounted in the upper portion of the fixture beneath a hood 14. The front of the hood let'is normally closed by means of a pivotally supported apron or shield 15which in itsv normal vertical position serves to hide the waste heat water heater from view. The apron 15' is'adapted to be pulled outwardly into an inclined or horizontal position to extend or increase the size of the hood to cover a larger portion of the gas range mounted therebelow. Projecting into the lower portion at one end of the waste heat cylinder 7 is a water supply pipe 16 which is connected with a, branch pipe 16a, connected with-a water supply pipe 42. Also mounted within the waste heat water heater cylinder 7 is a hot water outlet pipe ,17 which extends downwardly out of the cylinder 7 and is conducted downwardly to connect with a supply pipe 18 leading into a cylinder 19 of a mam hot water appliance mounted in the lower rear portion of the casing or cabinet 1.
The hot water tank 19 is enclosed within an insulation housing or jacket 20. Projecting upwardly into the water tank 19 is a burner hood or pipe 21 the lower outer end of which is open and is positioned directly above a gas burner 22 connected with a gas supply pipe 23. The auxiliary gas pipe 23 leads to a gas'controlled thermostat 24 which projects into the hot water tank 19 as clearly illustrated in Figure 3. The thermostat 24 is connected to a gas su ply pipe 25. Connected with the burner ood 21 is a pipe 26 which connects up with a chambered drum head 27 provided in one end of the water section of the cabinet affording a utensil compartment in front of and below the hot i water tank 19. The utensil compartment may be separated from the rear portion of the compartment in which the hot water heater is mounted by a partition of any suitable design. The utensil compartment is accessible through a lower front door 31 on the inner face of which autensil supporting rack or shelving 32 is supported. The partitions or walls forming the utensil compartment in the lower front portion of the cabinet form a removable unit which may be removed when necessary to gain access to the hotwater heatascends insulating material as illustrated in Figure 7. The front wall forming the front closure of the flue chamber is provided with an upper opening 43 (Figure 4) adapted to be closed by means of a removable panel or door 44. The upper opening 43 permits conven ient access to be had to the refrigerator unit apparatus. Provided in the front wall of the flue chamber 40 below the up r o ning 43 is a. long lower opening 45 a apte to be closed by along closure panel or door 46. The lower opening 45 permits convenient access to be had to the piping and other appa ratus which is mounted in the lower portion of the flue chamber 40.

Supported on the rear portion of the broiler drawer 54 behind the partition 55 is a re movable ash receiving receptacle or pan 58 which forms apart of an incinerator 'appliance mounted behind the gas range in an incinerator chamber 59. The top 60 of the gas range extends rearwardly over the top of the incinerator chamber 59 and is provided with an opening adapted to be closed by an incinerator cover 61 which when open provides an opening through which garbage can be placed in the incineraton' The incinerator cover 61 is pivotally mounted at 62 upon a head 63 which is rigidly secured on the upper end of a vertical slide rod 64. The cover control rod 64 is slidably mounted in brackets 65 secured on the back of the fixture.
Pivotally connected to the lower end of the actuating rod 64 is a link 66 (Figure 9) to the end of which is pivotally connected one end of a fulcrumed lever 67. The lever 67 is fulcrumed intermediate its ends at 68 within a chamber 69 provided in the outer side wall of the gas range. The rear end of the of top burners 47 in- I fulcrumed lever 67 projects through a slot 70 rovided in the rear wall of the cabinet or xture. Pivotally connected to the inner end of the lever 67 is the upper end of a connecting link 71 the lower end of which rojects through an opening in the bottom 0 the cabinet or fixture and is pivotally connected to a foot pedal 72 the rear end of which is pivotally supported on a. suitable bracket 73 secured to one of the fixture legs 2 as illustrated in Figure 3. The front end of the food pedal'72 projects a slight distance in front of the lower portion of the fixture nearone side of the same to permit convenient operation of the-control mechanisms governing the opening of the incinerator cover 61.
Rigidly secured to the inner faces of the vertical walls forming the incinerator housing 74 are a plurality of angle bar supports 75 to form a shoulder upon which the up er peri heral flange 76 of an incinerator bas et 1s a apted to be removably supported with said basket projecting downwardly within the incinerator housing 74 as clearly illustrated in Figure 6.
The incinerator basket comprises two arallel vertical side walls 77 connected at t eir upper ends by parallel end walls 78 the lower ends of which connect up with a pa1r of downwardly converging slantin walls 79 the lower ends of which are space a short distance a art and are connected to a small arched o-ttom wall 80. The inclined or slanting walls 79 of the incinerator basket are rovided with longitudinal openings 81. ShiI tably mounted ad acent the lnner faces of the inclined walls 79 of the incinerator basket are grate plates 82 which are also provided with a plurality of longitudinally disposed slots or openings to permit ashes from the interior of the incineratonto be discharged through the slots 81 of the inclined walls 79 when the grate plates 82 are actuated. Pivotally connected to the grate plates 82 are connecting rods 83 which project upwardly and are p1votally connected to the incinerator cover 61. The lower ends of the rods 83 are slotted at 84 (Fi re 8) to engage on the rejecting ends rods or shafts 85 whic are mounted transversely upon the upper ends of the grate plates-82. The shafts 85 are adapted to pro ect through slots 86 'provided in the upper portion of-the rear wall 77 of the incinerator basket. i
Projecting upwardly through the lower portion of the incinerator housing chamber 59 is a gas pipe 87 on the end of which an elbow 88 is secured to afiord a support for a air of inclined gas feed pi es 89 and 90. ounted on the upper end 0 the auxiliary gas feed pipe 89 is a low flame burner 91 which is adapted to burn continuously in order to provide a means for keeping a consistcnt drying atmosphere in the incinerator 'to dry the material within the incinerator basket. A .high flame burner 92 (Figure 6)v is mounted on the upper end of the fuel or gas pipe 90.- It will thus be noted that the incinerator is provided with a dual burner arrangement which eliminates the need of a pilot light. lVhen the incinerator cover is opened the incinerator basket may be removed so that access can easily be had to the dual incinerator burner. The incinerator burner 92 is adapted to be controlled by means of an incinerator burner cock or control valve 93 mounted adjacent an oven control burner cook or valve 94 both of which are mounted on the same common gas line on which the 'range burner control cocks or valves 48 are mounted. A common lighter 95 (Figure is mounted in a convenient position between the range burners 47 and is controlled by a pilot button 96 which is accessible from the front of the range as clearly illustrated in Figure 1. Mounted in the flue chaihber 7 incinerator pilot'97 for the incinerator high flame burner 92. Also mounted in the flue chamber 40 adj acent' the incinerator pilot 97 is an oven pilot 98. Both the incinerator pilot 97 and the oven pilot 98 have the upper ends thereof positioned so that they may be lighted from the common lighter 95.
Mounted in the flue chamber 40 below the main outlet flue 3 is an auxiliary flue pipe 99 the upper end of which connects with the outlet chamber 9 of the drum head 6 provided at one end of the waste heat water heater tank -7 as clearly illustrated in Figure 3. Connected with the flue elbow 4 of the main flue 3, is a housing or box 100 having a fan or blower device mounted therein to provide additional draft for removing cooking odors and burned gas from the range oven, the incinerator and from the other gas burning appliances forming a part of the combination fixture. The lower end of the auxiliary flue pipe 99 connects up with an incinerator flue 101, an oven flue box 103 and with a range burner flue box 102 to crmit the escape of burned gases and o ors from the various appliances into the auxiliary flue pipe 99 to permit escaping heat from the gases to as t rough the pi cs 12 and 13 of the waste eat water heater hefore escaping through the main flue 3.
A flue box 104 is also provided to connect thehot water heater drum head 29 with the lower end of the auxiliary flue pipe 99. It will thus be noted that all the various as fired appliances forming part of the com ination gas fixture are'arranged to be connected up with the common outlet flue permitting the various burned gases, odors etc. to escape from the fixture passing through the flue pipes forming part of the wasteheat water unit to cause the water in the waste heat water tank 7 to be heated by the waste heat thereb making a highly efficient arrangement or not onl heating an additional water supply but a so aflording a considerable saving of s for the heating of the main hot water ta reduced size in view of the fact that the waste water heater is provided.
The various appliances are so arranged that access to the operating mechanisms thereof is adapted to be readily had throu h the various doors and panels provided in t e front of the comb nation gas fixture.
The improved combination fixture provides an outstandin advantage in that it combines a plurality of gas fired appliances in a compact cabinet or housing adapted to occupy a smallamount of floor space and furthermore adapted to be had at a material reduction in cost over what the cost would be if a plusubstantially horizontal plane ,and furtherwhich consequently may be of more allowing any refuse from the food to be deposited directly into the incinerator basket by opening the incinerator cover 61 through the actuation of the incinerator control foot peda172. With the convenient close arrangement of the various gas appliances in the improved gas fixture it will be. noted that many steps will be saved for the housewife or a person using the improved fixture.
It will of course be understood that various details of construction may be varied through a wide range without departing from the rinciples of this invention, and it is therefiire not purposed limiting the patent anted hereon otherwise than necessitatetf by the scope of the appended claims.
I claim as my invention:
1. A combination gas fixture formed as a unitary piece of furniture comprising in combination a gas controlled refrlgerator and a gas controlled hot water heater disposed in one side of the fixture, a gas range, a gas controlled incinerator and a waste heat water heater mounted in the opposite side of the fixture, and a common flue device arranged in an intermediate section of the fixture adapted to conduct exhaust gases through the waste heat water heater to cause heating of the water therein.
2. A combination gas fixture formed as a single article of urniture including in combination a gas refrigerator appliance, a gas hot water appliance, a gas range, a as fired incinerator ap liance, a common ue for the gas range an the various appliances to afford an escape for waste gases and heat, and an auxiliary appliance connected in said common flue to utilize the waste heat escaping through the flue.
3. A combination gas fixture of unitary form embracing in combinat on a gas fired hot water heater, a gas controlled refrigerator unit mounted thereabove, a gas range, a gas fired incinerator behind said gas range, a
common flue connected with the refrigerator,
the hot water heater, the as range and the incinerator, and an auxiliary water iieater located above the gas range and above the incinerator and connected with the common flue to permit the waste flue gases to pass therethrough to cause the heat in the flue gases to be largely recovered in the water contained in the auxiliary water heater.
4. A combination as fixture in the form of a unitary piece of urniture comprising in combination a gas controlled refrigerator, a gas controlled main hot water heater mounted therebelow, a utensil compartment mounted below the refrigerator and in front of the main hot water heater, a gas range, a gas fired incinerator mounted behind said range, an auxiliary water heater mounted above the gas range and said incinerator, and a common flue connected with the refrigerator, the main hot water heater, the gas range, and said incinerator and passing through said auxiliary waterheater topermit thecwater in the auxiliary water heater to be heated by the heat recovered from the flue gases escaping through the common flue.
5. A unitary c'ulinaryfixture comprising in combination a gas refrigerator, a main water heater mounted below the rear por- .tion of the refrigerator, a utensil compartment mounted below the'front portion of the refrigerator in front of the main water heater, a gas range, a gas incinerator mounted behind the gas range, a foot pedal controlled cover for the incinerator mounted in the top of the gas range, an auxiliary water heater mounted above the incinerator, a hood for the gas range enclosing said auxiliary water heaterrand a common waste gas escape flue connected with the refrigerator, the main water heater, the gas range and the incineratorand passin through the auxiliary water heater to permit the waste heat included in the flue gases to be largely recovered in heating the water contained within the auxiliary watenheater. a
6. A combination culinary fixture embrac- Yng in combination'a gas controlled refrigerator, a gas fired main .water heater, a gas range, a gas fired ineineratorbehind the gas range, a broiler drawer mounted in the lower portion of the gas range, a broiler pan removably supported on said drawer, an incinerator ashreceptacle also mounted on said broiler I drawer behind the broiler pan to permit the ash receptacle to be removed when the bro ler drawer is pulled out, an auxiliary-water t heater mounted above the gas range, a common flue passing through the auxiliary water heater and connected with the refrigerator, the main'water heater, the gas range and the incinerator to permit the waste gases esca ing from said appliances to be util zed 1n heating the water in said auxiliary water heater.
7. A combination culinary fixture comprising in combination a gas controlled refrigerator, a gas fired main water heater, a gas range, a gas fired incinerator, a hood mounted above the gas range, an auxiliary water heater enclosed by said hood, a pivoted apron forming a part of said hood and adapted to be adjusted to extend further over the gas range, and acommon flue connected wlth the lrefrigerator, the main water heater, the gas ran e and said incinerator and connected -with sa1d auxiliary water heater to permitincinerator housing, a common flue connected to permit the escape of waste gases from the various appliances and an auxiliar water heater connected to utilize the heat rom the waste gases passing through the common flue to heat the water in said auxiliary Water heater.
9. A combination gas fixture comprising in combination a plurality of gas fired appliances, a common waste gas escape flue connected with said appliances, an auxiliary appliance adapted to utilize the heat in the escaping flue gases, one of said appliances comprising an incinerator-housing, a cover for said housing, manually controlled means for governing the opening of said incinerator cover, a removable incinerator basket in said incinerator housing, and grate members adjustably mounted in said basket and connected with said incinerator cover for operation thereb 10. A combmation gas'fixture comprising in combination a plurality of gas controlled appliances including an incinerator housing, a cover pivotally mounted thereon, a foot peda1 device connected with the cover to facilitate operation thereof, an incinerator basket removably mounted in said incinerator housing, grate members adjustably mounted in said incinerator basket, and means connected with said grate members and with the incinerator cover to permit operation of the grate members when the cover is operated.
11. A combination gas fixture comprising in combination a plurality of gas controlled appliances including an incinerator comprising an incinerator housing, a cover therefor, a foot pedal mechanism connected with the cover to facilitate operation thereof, a slotted incinerator basket removably mounted in said incinerator housing, grate members mounted in said incinerator basket, means connecting said grate members with the incinerator cover to cause operation of the grate members when the foot lever mechanism is operated, and burner-devices mounted in sa 1d incinerator houslng beneath the removable incinerator basket.
12. A combination fixture of the class described comprising a gas range, a gas incinerator mounted therebehind, a cover for said incinerator mounted in the rear portion of the top of said gas range, a removable incinerator basket in said incinerator, a common 'flueconnected with the gas range and. with said incinerator, grate members adjustably mounted in said incinerator basket and connected with said cover, and means for operating said cover to 0 en the same and slmultaneously actuate sai grate members.
18. A combination fixture of the class described comprising in combination a gas heater, a gas refrigerator mounted thereabove, av as range mounted to' one side of said gas behind the gas range and accessible through eater, a gas incinerator mountedthe to of said stove, and a common flue connecte with the gas refrigerator, the gas heater, the gas range and sai gas incinerator. 14. A combination fixture of the class described comprising in combination a gas range, a as incinerator mounted therebehind, a cover or said incinerator mounted in the top'of said as range, a common flue connected with t e gas range and with said incinerator, a slide member mounted in the gas range and beneath said incinerator, a broiling device removably supported on the slide member and an ash receptacle for said incinerator also mounted on said slide member and adapted to' be positioned beneath the incinerator when the slide member is in place. 15. A combination gas fixture formed as a single article of furniture including in combinatlon a gas refrigerator appliance, a gas hot water appliance, a gas range, a common flue for the as range and the various appliances to a 0rd an escape for waste gases I and heat, and an auxiliary appliance connected in series with said common flue to Etilize the waste heat escaping through the ue.
