Rigdly secured to and rising from the base plate 4 is a series of uprights 6, 7 and 8, each preferably of tubular form and connected together by tubular cross rods 9 and 10. Mounted in the upright 6 to be adjustable up and down therein is a seat post 11 carrying a seat 12 for the one using the apparatus; and mounted in the upright 8 is a handle bar post 13 to which a handle bar 14, such as is provided on bicycles, is secured. Mounted in the upright 7 is a post 15 terminating in a crank-hanger bearing 16 in which a pedalequipped crank-hanger 17 connected with a sprocket 18, is journalled. The arrangement of the seat 12, crank-hanger 17, and handle bar 14 is similar to that provided in the ordinary bicycle.

Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

An exercising apparatus comprising a base, a seat-supporting upright anda handlebar-supporting upright rising therefrom, .a relatively low upright on said base intermediate the first and second mentioned uprights, means connecting and bracing the relatively ,low upright to and from the first mentioned -uprights, a crank hanger journaled at the top of 'the third upright, a forked frame member forwardly of the second mentioned upright having one arm fastened to the second mentioned upright and the other .arm fastened to the base, a Wheel mounted by the forked frame member, and a driving connection between said crank hanger and said wheel.

An exercising apparatus comprising a base7 a seat-supporting upright `and a handlebar-supporting upright rising therefrom, an upright on said base intermediate said first and second mentioned uprights, a crank hanger journaled at the top of the third upright, a forked frame member forwardly of the second mentioned upright having one arm fastened to the second mentioned upright above the third mentioned upright and having the other arm fastened to the base, a Wheel mounted by the forked frame member, a driving connection between said crank hanger and ysaid wheel, and means operable to apply pressure to the wheel to retard its motion, the latter means being fastened to one of the arms `of the frame member and located between such arm and the second mentioned upright.
