Patented Feb. 12, 1929.
UGO GABUTTI, OF TURIN, ITALY.
AUTOMATIC DELIVERY APPARATUS.
Application filed November 26, 1927, Serial No. 235,900, and in Italy December 3, 1926.
This invention relates to a very simple and. cheap automatic delivery apparatus, that can be made of small size and light ma terial, such as cardboard. The apparatus comprises a case h (log a double bottom in which a drawer is slidable; this latter carries some suitable means for grasping it and drawing it out of the case and is subjected to the action of an elastic tending to pull itback into the case. The articles contained in the case tall freely one by one into the withdrawn drawer through an opening 01%? suitable size provided in the wall forming the double bottom, and a suitable guide extension of the drawer serves as a closure for the opening, when the drawer pulled out for delivering the article. I further provide stopping means for the extracted drawer in order to facilitate removal of the article therein contained. This apparatus is usetul e. g. for delivering pharmaceutical articles, sweets, food, and the like, it allows a better preservation of the articles and a hygienic delivery as each person touches the desired article only without ever coming into contact with the others contained in the case.
The accompanying drz'lwing shows diagrammatically by way of example the autoinatic delivery apparatus.
Figure 1 is a sectional View thereot in the closed position and Figure 2 in the open position.
1 denotes the case having a bottom 2 and a wall 3 forming double bottom in which the drawer l is slidable. This latter is provided with a guide extension aknob (t or the like tor grasping the drawer and an claslie 7 tend ing to pull same back to its withdrawn position shown in Fig. l. The guide extension 5 in such manner that when the drawer in its open position is slightly pressed downwards,
carries a lower notch formed the notch engages the edge of the bottom 2 so that the drawer is held open. The edge 2 disengaged from the notch 8 by return iug the drawer to its horizontal position. The middle partition 3 has an opening 9 lying above the drawer when this latter is withdrawn (Fig. 1) and closed by the wall 5 of the guide extension 5 when the drawer is open (Fig. 2).
The opening 9 and drawer 4 shall beinade large enough in order to permit only one of the articles contained in the case to fall and deposit into the drawer, so that every time the drawer is pulled out, one article is brought to the outside and can be easily removed, while every time the drawer is withdrawn into the case a fresh article falls into it as long as there are any objects in the case.
lVhat I claim is:
Automatic delivery apparatus comprising in combination a case provided with a double bottom, a drawer slidable in said double bottom, a grasping member for pulling out said drawer, stopping means for holding said drawer in its drawn out position when the drawer is pressed downward; and permitting it to resume its withdrawn position when it is returned to its horizontal position, an elastic member tending to withdraw it into the case, an opening on the inner wall of the double bottom lying above the drawer when this latter is withdrawn, an extension of the drawer closing said opening when the drawer is open, the said opening and drawer being such that one article only will fall, and deposit at a time into the drawer.
In testimony that l claim the foregoing as my invention, I have signed my name.
UGO GABUTTI.
