SAMUEL ROSENBAUM AND BENATT FINELSTEIN, 01? LOS ANGELES, GALH'Ot; i
ADiTU STABLE SLEEVE-PROTECTOR.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed August 19, 1918. serial No. 785,498.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, SAMUEL'ROSENBA and BENATT Fmxnns'mm, both citizens of the United States, residingat Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles, State of California, haye invented new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Sleeve-Protectors, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to sleeve protectors, andthe principal object is to provide a sleeve protector with means for adjustably securing the same in relation to the sleeves Itis also an object to provide a sleeve protector with elastic securlng means. 7
It is a still further object to provide a sleeve protector with an elastically mounted strap provided with a toothed hook by which the latter may be inserted within the band of the protector.
In the drawings accompanying this specification and forming therewith the application for Letters Patent: Figure 1 is an elevation of the sleeve protector with the invention applied thereto, showing the upper end of the protectorin its unsecured position. Fig. 2 is a view of the .upperportion showing the hook engaged 1n locked position.
Fig. 3 is a detail of the method of adjusting the cuff.
More specifically in the drawings, .5 designates a sleeve rotector formed of fabric of the usual configuration having a cuff portion 6 and a largeportion 7 adapted to fit' over the elbow, and an upper end which is preferably reinforced with a tape 8 entirely around the margin thereof and on the Secured to the point '9 is an elastic band 10 or ribbon which passes through a loop 11 secured to a short tape 12 which is fastened to the tape 8 previously mentioned, this 100 being m such relation to a hook 14 that t ere will be a certain amount of fold or fullness of the material intermediate of the bands 9 and the point where the loop strap is secured.
The hook is provided with a plurality of teeth 15 which are preferably pointed and So arranged that they may readily engage within the tape 8, this hook being preferably formed of the rectangular configuration shown-and clamped to the sides of the elastic by means of suitable tongues 16.
The cuff portion is formed with a division 7 The operation of the adjustable closure for the upper portion will be readily understood, the elastic forming a band 10 within which the loop 11 is freely movable and al-- lows sufficient resiliency to hold the protector in proper relation, as well as providing free movement of the wearers arm.
What we claim is:
A sleeve protector, comprisin a fabric body member, a continuous non-e astic band of tape on'one end of said body member, an elastic band secured to saidtape and extending parallel therewith, a metallic loop on the tape spaced from the connection between the tape and the elastic band through which said elastic band passes, and a hook mounted on the end of the elastic band adapted to engage with the non-elastic tape.
In Witness thatwe claim the foregoing we have hereunto subscribed our names this 9th day of August, 1913.
