Abstract

The boot (1) consists of an upper (2) with a sole (3) attached to the underside. The upper is made from a more supple material than the sole. The sole is made with a series of upward projections extending from its edge which pass over the foot and have their upper ends joined by fastenings. The projections are moulded in one piece with the sole and positioned symmetrically in relation to the sole's lengthwise axis. They are in four pairs in line with the tow joints, the metatarsal bones, the instep and the base of the tibia. The boot's upper is made from a plastics material which is moulded with recesses to receive the sole projections.

Description

Domaine techniqueTechnical area

The invention relates to the snow sports sector, more precisely to that of snowboarding. It relates more particularly to a shoe structure for the practice of surfing.

The shoes allowing the practice of snowboarding are made according to various structures.

On the one hand, some surfers use boots formed mainly of a rod whose lacing allows its attachment to the foot and the bottom of the leg. In general, this boot fits into a binding comprising straps allowing it to be attached to the surf. Unfortunately, when bending the leg, the tension of the laces changes which sometimes produces a feeling of floating, or sometimes compression at the instep. However, it is known that the circulation of blood in the foot is ensured by the pedestrian artery, so that compression of the instep can cause poor irrigation which affects comfort and therefore optimal practice of surfing.

On the other hand, there are also known shoes used for the practice of surfing having a rigid structure, approaching that used for the practice of alpine skiing. Unfortunately, although perfectly satisfactory with regard to tightening, this type of shoe is of limited comfort.

The objective which the invention proposes to solve is to provide a surf shoe having a flexible structure of the boot type, and simultaneously ensuring comfort and effective clamping of the foot in the shoe.

Brève description de l'inventionBrief description of the invention

The invention therefore relates to a shoe for snowboarding, of the type comprising:
  • a rod enclosing the foot and the bottom of the leg,
  • a sole secured to the underside of the upper, said upper being made of a more flexible material than that of the sole,
  • means for clamping the rod on the foot and on the lower leg.

This shoe is characterized in that the sole has lateral extensions going up on the sides of the foot, the upper end of these extensions comprising elements intended to cooperate with the tightening members.

In other words, unlike all types of existing surf boots, the tightening of the upper on the foot rests directly on the sole and not on the upper. In this way, the higher rigidity of the sole allows more effective tightening.

In other words, the invention consists in tightening the upper directly on the sole.

Advantageously in practice, the extensions have come from molding and are arranged symmetrically with respect to the vertical longitudinal plane of the shoe. In this way, the tightening is carried out by bringing together the extension pairs located one opposite the other. To optimize tightening directions, extensions may also be arranged asymmetrically with respect to the vertical longitudinal plane of the shoe.

Furthermore, in a particular embodiment, the sole has four extensions, respectively:
  • the first placed at the toes,
  • the second at the level and just behind the metatarsophalangeal joint,
  • the third at and in front of the heel-instep diagonal,
  • the fourth at the level of the lower tibia.

In this configuration, efficient clamping is obtained with a reduced number of extensions.

Furthermore, the notches corresponding to the spaces between each extension form flexion zones of the sole which coincide with the natural axes of articulation of the foot. This arrangement is particularly advantageous for walking comfort and for the sporting practice of surfing.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the rod present in the heel-instep diagonal, and on each side of the foot, an element intended to cooperate with the tightening members.

In this way, the tightening is ensured jointly by the extensions of the sole and by a part of the upper at the instep. In this way, flexing the ankle does not cause a change in tension on the instep. This mixed tightening optionally allows independent tightening.

In one embodiment, the upper is made of a thermoformable plastic material and has, after forming, recessed portions intended to form housings to receive the extensions of the sole.

In other words, the upper is thermoformed in such a way that the sole and in particular its extensions come to be embedded under the lower part of the upper. Thanks to this advantageous architecture, in the case of joining by gluing, only the quantity of adhesive required is placed in the hollow parts of the rod, which avoids any risk of burrs.

In order to improve the tightening efficiency and increase the solidity of the sole, it has straps connecting the ends of the symmetrical extensions, passing under the bottom of the foot. Advantageously, these straps can be embedded in the thickness of the sole.

In this way, each pair of extensions has a reinforcement arranged under the foot between two symmetrical clamping members.

In the case of tightening by traditional lacing, the tightening means are hooks or lace-up eyelets. In the case of tightening by loops, the tightening elements are hook-tooth assemblies commonly used on alpine ski boots.

Advantageously, to improve user comfort, the upper receives a removable liner.

Description sommaire des dessinsBrief description of the drawings

The manner of carrying out the invention as well as the advantages which result therefrom will emerge clearly from the description of the shoe according to the invention which follows, in support of the appended figures.

Figure 2 is a rear view of the same shoe.

Figure 3 is a side view of the upper shown independently of the sole.

La figure 4 est une vue de côté de la semelle seule montrée en vue de dessus à la figure 5.FIG. 4 is a side view of the sole sole shown in plan view in FIG. 5.

Manière de réaliser l'inventionWay of realizing the invention

Comme on le voit à la figure 1, la chaussure de surf (1) conformément à l'invention se décompose en deux éléments principaux, à savoir la tige (2) et la semelle (3).As seen in Figure 1, the surf shoe (1) according to the invention is broken down into two main elements, namely the upper (2) and the sole (3).

The sole (3) has a flat upper face intended to be glued under the lower face (5) of the upper. The underside (4) of the rod and fulfills its traditional function of contact surface with the ground.

According to the invention, the sole (3), shown independently of the rod (2) in Figure 5, comprises a number of extensions (6-13) which go up on the lateral edges (14) of the rod (2 ).

In the nonlimiting form illustrated, these extensions (6-13) are four in number, arranged along the edge of the rod. Thus, the most forward extensions (6, 7) are located substantially at the toes, the second extensions (8, 9) are located at and behind the metatarsophalangeal joint, the third extensions (10, 11) arise substantially at the rear of the arch of the foot and are directed forward, while the last extensions (12, 13) arise at the level of the calcaneus and are directed upward and front above the malleoli.

Les extrémités supérieures de chacun de ces prolongements reçoivent un élément permettant le passage de lacets (17) ou d'accrochage de boucles (18).The upper ends of each of these extensions receive an element allowing the passage of laces (17) or hooking of loops (18).

According to another characteristic of the invention, these elements (17) can be directly derived from the molding of the sole (3), which improves the rigidity and the strength of these attachment points.

According to an advantageous arrangement, the extensions (12, 13) located in the rear area of the shoe are interconnected by a strap, a horizontal bar. In the form illustrated in Figure 2, these extensions (12, 13) form a one-piece collar from molding.

To improve the effectiveness of lacing, the sole (3) is equipped with additional straps (20, 23) which are embedded or sewn in said sole. As seen in Figure 6, these straps (20, 23) connect two lace-up elements located on two symmetrical extensions (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13) passing on the underside (4) of the sole and therefore under the upper (2). It is understood that this arrangement improves the tightening, as well as the resistance of the lace-up elements (15, 17) by reducing the risks of accidental tearing. These straps (20, 23) can be made either in woven fabric, either in rigid plastic, or even in a more sophisticated form by metallic threads.

The sole (3) described above is intended to come under the rod (2). This rod (2) has known arrangements, namely a vamp covering the front and the top of the foot to which are attached two lateral uprights (26, 27) extending from the rear zone of the rod. In known manner, this rod (2) comprises a bellows (28) before, at the bottom of the tibia which is developable to allow the introduction of the foot inside the rod (4). In a manner also known, this rod receives a removable liner (29) having satisfactory comfort qualities for the user.

As seen in Figure 3, the rod (2) has elements (51) allowing the attachment of a strap (50) at the bottom of the leg.

According to the invention, the rod (2) has on each side, in the heel-instep diagonal, an element (30) intended to cooperate with the tightening members. This element is anchored (31) securely on the rod (2) by sewing or riveting or any other known means. In this way, the tightening is obtained jointly by bringing together the extensions (6, 13) of the sole and by that of the elements (30) anchored on the upper. This mixed tightening allows independence and means that bending the ankle does not cause any change in lacing tension. Similarly, with the straps of the sole, these two elements are interconnected by a strap running through the rear of the foot at the bottom of the heel, again with the aim of improving the tightening.

At the instep, the lateral uprights (26) are separated from the upper (25) by a notch (32) which facilitates the flexion of the leg.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the part of the rod intended to come into contact with the characteristic sole, has recessed parts (40, 43) produced by thermoforming. These recessed parts (40, 43) are made along the contour of said sole and in particular extensions (6, 13). In this way, the sole (3) is embedded inside these hollow parts (40, 43) to form a compact unit with the upper. This arrangement allows during gluing to spread the glue only in the hollow parts, which avoids, during positioning, untimely burrs. In order to improve the embedding of the sole on the upper, it is also possible to provide, inside the hollow parts (40-43), raised parts corresponding to complementary recesses provided for this purpose. on the sole.

The geometry of the rear part of the sole and in particular of the tongues (45, 46) are directed from the malleoli towards the Achilles tendon, which allows the sole to form an advantageous buttress for the holding and the rigidity of the shoe. Thus, the geometry of this rear zone can be modulated as desired to obtain the desired rigidity.

The surf shoe according to the invention has the advantage of tightening the upper on the foot and then directly on the sole, which makes it possible to obtain a much more effective tightening than on all types of existing shoe.
