Abstract

For the mutually independent release of two foot support elements which are respectively provided on the outside with locking pins and on the inside with locking devices, a compressionally stable but otherwise movable connection - in the particular case two hydraulic pressure cylinders which are connected by means of a line - is arranged on the snowboard. It is now possible to get into the locking pistons of the connection with the foot support elements which are then respectively snapped into an automatic binding device on their outside. If one automatic device is then released in the event of a fall, the locking piston of the other foot support element loses counterpressure, and the virtually simultaneous release of both foot support elements is guaranteed. In practical application, conventional ski bindings can be used as automatic binding devices. The foot support elements serve likewise to receive proven boot-holding systems. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a release system for a snowboard according to the preamble of claim 1.

(Zeitschrift "Snowboard" Nr. 2, Ausgabe November 1988, Seite 28 und Seite 34 bis 37).Release systems are so far only known for use on skis. It is known that there are bindings for snowboards as buckles or strap-on shoe holding systems. (Magazine "Snowboard" No. 2, November 1988 edition, page 28 and pages 34 to 37).

However, the conventional binding systems firmly connect the driver standing across the board to the board. This entails considerable risk of falling injuries, especially at higher speeds, especially as a result of torsional forces that occur during turning falls.

The invention is based on the object of ensuring the separation of the driver from the board in the event of a fall with both feet , in view of the fact that the feet trigger individually depending on the bindings.
This is of considerable importance since a foot remaining on the board carries the risk of serious injuries.

This object is achieved in a generic device by the features of claim 1.

In order to ensure such a triggering also with regard to torsional stability, in one exemplary embodiment pressure cylinders are hydraulically connected to one another by a line.
The pistons of the pressure cylinders are also locks. Characterized in that the foot stand elements on their outer sides receiving pins and locking devices on the inner sides, they can be locked on the outside in binding machines and on the inside of the pistons of the pressure cylinders.
Both machines and pressure cylinders are firmly mounted on the board.
The fact that the footstand elements lie on slidable supports that are mounted on the board ensures that the torsion is triggered properly.
Because the dimensions of the outer receiving pins can correspond to the pins on ski boots, it is possible to use conventional automatic ski binding machines as triggers.
Due to the fact that the footstand elements are made of impact-resistant plastic, tried and tested shoe retention systems (buckles / brackets) can be mounted on them.
This enables the release base plate system to be used according to the proven ski binding principle, with the difference that both foot stand elements release almost simultaneously as a function of one another, in that after triggering one element the piston of the other pressure cylinder loses the counterpressure and thus releases it.

The advantages achieved by the invention are, in particular, that considerable risk of injury to the snowboard driver is avoided by the fact that the entire body is separated from the snowboard in the event of a fall, and after the release both legs are individually free , depending on the terrain in which the Fall occurs, can be an advantage. (Vegetation, steep, icy terrain).
The system is almost wear-free and safe to use.
Otherwise it means an increase in comfort.

  • Fig. 1 , die Seitenansicht des Systems:
Die Fußstandelemente (1 a,b) als Platten mit Aufnahmezapfen (10 a,b) außen und Hülsenarretierungsvorrichtungen (7 a,b) innen, die Automaten (4 a,b) (Hilfsmittel), die gleitfördernden Kunststoffunterlagen (3 a,b), die Druckzylinder (2 a,b) mit Kolben (6 a,b), die Hydraulikleitung (9), die Snowboardoberfläche (5).
  • Fig. II, die Draufsicht:
    Die Automaten (4 a,b), die Fußstandplatten (1 a,b), die Druckzylinder (2 a,b), die Hydraulikleitung (9), die Snowboardoberfläche (5).
  • Fig. III, Das Funktionsschema, Beispiel "Aushub":
  • Fig. IV, ein weiteres Ausführungsbeispiel mit 4 Stck. Druckzylindern (2 a,b,c,d). Vorteilhaft um Hebelkräfte der Fußstandplatten (1 a,b) wirkungsvoller aufzufangen.
The use of hydraulic pressure cylinders has the advantage over conceivable mechanical solutions that twists and bends caused by snowboard use do not have a negative effect on the binding function.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing and are described in more detail below:
  • 1, the side view of the system:
    The footstand elements (1 a, b) as plates with locating pins (10 a, b) on the outside and sleeve locking devices (7 a, b) on the inside, the machines (4 a, b) (aids), the slide-promoting plastic pads (3 a, b) , the pressure cylinder (2 a, b) with piston (6 a, b), the hydraulic line (9), the snowboard surface (5).
  • II, the top view:
    The machines (4 a, b), the base plates (1 a, b), the pressure cylinders (2 a, b), the hydraulic line (9), the snowboard surface (5).
  • III, the functional diagram, example "excavation":
The automatic heel unit (4b) opens, the plate (1b) releases, the piston (6b) loses back pressure, the piston (6a) yields, the plate (1a) releases.
  • Fig. IV, another embodiment with 4 pieces. Printing cylinders (2 a, b, c, d). This is advantageous in order to absorb the lever forces of the base plates (1 a, b) more effectively.
