Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a mobile radio station according to the preamble of claim 1.
A location and navigation system is known (Elektronik, 1987, No. 20, page 30) that works with map support. The system has the disadvantage that the vehicle driver has to select the map section corresponding to the respective location of the motor vehicle from a large number of map sections. Errors cannot be excluded. In addition, the selection of the map section is a burden for the vehicle driver. From DE-A-35 16 357 a radio telephone network has become known, by means of which it is possible to determine the approximate location of a mobile radio station. For this purpose, the fixed radio stations continuously send out their identification, the evaluation of which makes it possible to determine in which area of the fixed radio station the mobile radio station is located. If you now compare these special identifiers with information about the locations of the fixed radio station, it is possible to determine the approximate location of the mobile radio receiver. A navigation system is known from the patent abstract of JP-A-63 15 18 79, in which a detector is present, with which the field strength and the direction of received transmission stations are evaluated. Means are also available with which the transmitted station can be identified. Because of the field strength and the In the direction of reception, a map is selected from a memory and displayed.
The invention has for its object to develop a mobile radio station with location and navigation device according to the preamble of claim 1 such that the users of mobile radio stations with a location and navigation device are relieved when looking for the relevant map section.
The object is achieved in a system according to the preamble of claim 1 by the characterizing features of this claim. The advantages that can be achieved with the invention are, in particular, that the user of a mobile radio station no longer has to search for the relevant map section himself, but that this map section is automatically selected with little technical effort.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing using a single figure and is described in more detail below.
The figure shows a block diagram of a cellular radio telephone network divided into radio cells Z1, Z2, Z3,... Each radio cell contains a fixed radio station F1, F2, ..., and mobile radio stations M1, M2, ... move within the radio cells.
The fixed radio stations F1, F2 each have a transmitting
Each mobile radio station M1, M2, ... has a transmitting
The operation of the radio telephone network explained above is as follows.
Vorzugsweise beim Einschalten einer mobilen Funkstation, zum Beispiel M1, erfolgt das Auslesen der den ungefähren Aufenthaltsort kennzeichnenden Standortinformation aus dem Informationsspeicher 20, das automatische Heraussuchen des zugehörigen Kartenausschnitts anhand der gespeicherten Tabelle und das Anzeigen des betreffenden Kartenausschnitts auf dem Display 24.Information is exchanged between the fixed radio stations F1, F2, and the mobile radio stations M1, M2, ..., such as the individual base station numbers of the fixed radio stations F1, F2, ..., as well as field strength and / or runtime information (depending on Radio network). This information is stored in the
The correlation can then be checked continuously or at fixed intervals while driving. A new map section is preferably selected when the mobile radio station receives the base station number of another fixed radio station, for example F2. Any new information, different from the stored information, which the receiving part of the mobile radio station M1 receives, overwrites the previously stored information in the
