Bei einem Vibrator mit rotierend antreibbarer Welle (1, 25), mit welcher wenigstens eine Hauptunwuchtmasse (3, 19) und um 180° gegenüber dieser versetzt wenigstens eine Ausgleichsunwuchtmasse (5, 23) drehsicher mit dieser ver­ bunden sind, erfolgt die Verstellung des Radialabstandes des Schwerpunktes der Ausgleichsunwuchtmasse (5, 23) durch die Wirkung der Fliehkraft, wobei der Gesamtschwerpunkt aller Unwuchtmassen (3, 19 und 5, 23) unter allen Betriebs­ bedingungen bzw. bei allen Drehzahlen in radialem Abstand in Richtung zur Hauptunwuchtmasse (3, 19) liegt. Die Verstellung dieser Ausgleichsunwuchtmasse (5, 23) erfolgt somit drehzahlabhängig, so daß bei Erhöhung der Drehzahl der Schwerpunkt der Ausgleichsunwuchtmasse (5, 23) nach außen wandert. Da die Ausgleichsunwuchtmasse (5, 23) um 180° gegenüber der Hauptunwuchtmasse (3, 19) versetzt ist, bewirkt eine Vergrößerung des Radialabstandes der Ausgleichsunwuchtmasse (5, 23) eine Verkleinerung des Radialabstandes des Gesamtschwerpunktes aller Unwuch­ tmassen (3, 19 und 5, 23) und es wird bei steigender Drehzahl der Vibratorwelle (1, 25) die Amplitude der Schwingungen verkleinert.
