Inertial three axis orientation measurement device (1.1) and position sensor are located on body part. Position sensor is positioned on reference body part. Signals from measurement device and sensor are fed to signal and data processing unit. Position and orientation of body part is determined relative to coordinate system defined on reference body part and source and orientation angle of coordinate system connected with body part or measurement device.

Fig. 1 zeigt einen fest mit dem Körper 1.0 verbundenen 3A-Gyro 1.1 welcher die 3 Winkel ϕ, ψ, χ relativ zu seinem Ausgangszustand mißt (z. B. als Zeitintegral der Winkelgeschwindigkeitskomponenten bei Verwendung eines Fiber- oder Vibrationsgyros). Die Win­ kel sind in der Ausschnittsvergrößerung Fig. 1a dargestellt. Diese drei gemessenen Winkel ϕ, ψ, χ geben allerdings keine gute Vorstellung über die Orientierung des Körpers 1.0. In den Fig. 2 und 2a können die drei Ultraschallempfänger auch in einer Ebene liegen (gestrichelte Variante von Ultraschallempfän­ ger 2.8). Um Verdeckungen bei der externen Positionserfassung entgegenzuwirken wird es sinnvoll sein eine zweite solche Kombinationssensorik oder nur einen zweiten Positionsanteil in räumlich definierter Beziehung zur ersten an der starren Weste 3.7 anzubringen. Es sei hier auch nochmals daraufhingewiesen, daß der Positionsanteil und der Gyro einer Kombinations­ sensorik nicht in einem gemeinsamen Gehäuse untergebracht zu sein brauchen. In den Flanken der starren Weste 3.7 sind die drei Ultraschallempfänger 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 so angeordnet, daß sie ein Koordina­ tensystem B1 (x1, y1, z1) definieren können. Koordinatenursprung von B1 sei in Fig. 3 der Ultraschall­ empfänger 3.1, der auf Grund der Starrheit der Weste 3.7 durch den konstanten Vektor rB1 mit dem Ur­ sprung des Körperhauptkoordinatensystems B0 verbunden ist. Nachdem also die Magnetfeldkomponenten Hx, Hy, Hz bestimmt sind müssen aus ihnen über die Bezie­ hungen (2.1), (2.2), (2.3) die gesuchten Koordinaten (x0, y0, z0) berechnet werden. Da eine analytische Methode zur Auflösung der Gleichungen (2.1), (2.2), (2.3) nach den gesuchten Koordinaten (x0, y0, z0) nicht bekannt ist, kann man folgende Vergleichsmethode anwenden um die gesuchten Koordinaten zu erhalten. Man berechnet die Magnetfeldstärken einer Vielzahl von Positionen im Erfassungsbereich und überprüft sie teilweise durch Messung. Bei einem Erfassungsbereich von 2 × 2 × 2 m ergeben sich 8 000 000.3 gerechnete Werte für die Magnetfeldkomponenten, wenn man ein Erfassungsraster von 1 cm3 anstrebt. Die gesuchten Koordinaten (x0, y0, z0) erhält man dann durch Vergleich von gemesse­ nen und berechneten Feldkomponenten. Zur Steigerung der Erfassungsgenauigkeit kann man im Nah­ bereich der Spule dann noch eine Feinauflösung mit Raster 1 mm3 ausführen (Berechnung von 10 × 10 × 10 × 3 = 3000 weiteren Feldkomponentenwerten). Um Rechenzeit zu sparen wird man bei der Ver­ gleichsbildung nicht den gesamten Erfassungsraster abtasten, sondern nur die unmittelbare Umgebung der zuletzt bekannten Position des Magnetfeldsensors. Dazu wird man zu Beginn der Messung von einer definierten Startposition ausgehen in der gleichzeitig die Ausrichtung der Gyroorientierung erfolgt. Die Magnetspulen 4.10 bis 4.14 zeigen weitere Anordnungsmöglichkeiten am Körper. Dabei können bei be­ kannter geometrischer Beziehung der Spulen, die verschiedenen Erfassungsbereiche der einzelnen Spu­ len optimal je nach Position der Hand ausgenutzt werden.   • - daß die Signale von mindestens einem inertialen 3-Achs-Orientierungs-Messaufnehmer und von min­ destens einer Positionssensorik mindestens einer Signal- und Datenverarbeitung zugeführt werden,
  • - daß der Datenverarbeitung fallweise die nötigen Bestimmungswerte der Orientierung und/oder Position der an einem Körperteil bezw. dem Bezugskörperteil angebrachten inertialen 3-Achs-Orientierungs- Messaufnehmer und Teilpositionssensoriken sowie von repräsentativen Körperteil- bezw. Bezugskör­ perteilstellen eingegeben werden - wobei die genannten Bestimmungswerte der Orientierung und/oder Position auf ein Körperteil bzw. das Bezugskörperteil bezogen sind -,
  • - daß die Datenverarbeitung aus den Signalen von mindestens einem inertialen 3-Achs-Orientierungs- Messaufnehmer und mindestens einer Positionssensorik und den fallweise eingegeben Bestimmungs­ werten, mindestens eine von folgenden geometrischen Bestimmungsgrößen, relativ zu einem am Be­ zugskörperteil definierten Koordinatensystem errechnet:
  • - die Position und Orientierung von mindestens einem Körperteil oder
  • - mindestens einen Körperteilpunkt und/oder mindestens einen Repräsentanten von mindestens einem Körperteil oder

  • - daß der Datenverarbeitung fallweise die nötigen Bestimmungswerte der Orientierung und/oder Position der an einem Körperteil bezw. Bezugskörperteil angebrachten inertialen 3-Achs-Orientierungs-Mess­ aufnehmer und Teilpositionssensoriken sowie von repräsentativen Körperteil- bezw. Bezugskörperteil­ stellen eingegeben werden - wobei die genannten Bestimmungswerte der Orientierung und/oder Posi­ tion auf ein Körperteil bzw. das Bezugskörperteil bezogen sind -,
  • - daß die Datenverarbeitung aus den Signalen von mindestens einem inertialen 3-Achs-Orientierungs- Messaufnehmer und mindestens einer Positionssensorik und den fallweise eingegeben Bestimmungs­ werten, mindestens eine von folgenden geometrischen Bestimmungsgrößen errechnet:
