A three-phase AC winding (10) is provided at the outer surface of a conical-annular duct (1). The energy conservation is achieved by the braking operation of a working component by using magnetic field directed along predetermined axes. Outer and inner cones of a work chamber are made of ceramic. Three-phase AC winding is made of yttrium-barium immersed in liquid nitrogen.

Description

The invention belongs to the device of the magnetohydrodynamic generator (abbreviated MHD generator). It is intended for the conversion of the mechanical energy of the moving working body, which is in the plasma state, into electrical energy. A known construction of the MHD generator, which is the prototype of the proposed construction, is shown in [1]. The heat energy that arises during the combustion of the fuel, the working body, z. As air, in the plasma state. At high temperature, the gas ionizes and becomes electrically conductive. When expanded, the heat energy is transformed into mechanical kinetic energy of the working body in the working chamber. Within the working chamber two electrodes are installed. Outside the working chamber, a superconducting DC winding is mounted, which excites within the working chamber, the DC magnetic field, which is directed perpendicular to the direction of movement of the working body. During the movement of the electrically conductive working body, electromotive force and electric current are generated in the DC magnetic field between the electrodes. A variety of design variants of the MHD DC generators was invented in the 60s-80s of the last century. At that time, experimental models of MHD generators were developed and their research was carried out in many countries. It was assumed that the installation of MHD generators in thermal power plants would increase the efficiency to 15%. However, this has not happened for one reason. The existing designs of the MHD generators could not guarantee a permanent function as energy sources, i. H. to provide the necessary resource. The reason is that the construction of the prototype - the MHD DC generator has a significant defect. The electric current in the working body flows between the metal electrodes. When flowing through. Of the current, the cathode is bombarded with ions that have a high energy. As a result, the cathode is destroyed during operation. All attempts to solve the problem of erosion of the electrodes were unsuccessful. The MHD DC generators' most successful designs had a resource of several hundred hours, but a resource of tens of thousands of hours must be guaranteed for use in the industrial power system.

The aim of the invention is to eliminate the specified defect of the prototype. It is a constructive solution to find the MHD generator, which excludes the application of the electrodes.

The technical result, to which the invention is directed, is the construction of a MHD generator, which thanks to the significant increase in the service period is able to be used constantly in the energy system and to produce more 15% more electric power.

The constructive solution of the prototype [1] was based on the application of superconductors, which can only produce a magnetic DC field.

In the context of the development of high-temperature superconductivity, superconductors based on alternating current have been developed. Superconductor-made windings are capable of generating a magnetic alternating field with a high induction value and minimum energy losses in the industrial frequency of 50-60 Hz.

On the basis of high-temperature superconductors, cable and transformer test patterns for industrial power systems are produced. The windings of such transformers are cooled by liquid nitrogen. This positive experience can be evaluated in the design of MHD alternators.

To eliminate the main deficiency of the prototype [1], a construction of the MHD generator is proposed, which excludes the use of electrodes. The energy transformation is achieved by braking the working body in the magnetic field. The working body goes in the plasma state in the conical annular channel, on the outer surface of a three-phase AC winding is attached. The AC winding generates a magnetic field that moves in the conical annular channel. The speed of the magnetic field is set lower than the movement speed of the working body in the channel. Therefore, the magnetic field in the electroconductive working body causes electromotive force and eddy currents, as is done similarly in the rotor of the linear asynchronous electric motor. The eddy current magnetic field interaction creates a force that slows down the current of the working body and in the three-phase alternating current winding generates electromotive force and active current, which is conducted into the energy system. The speed of the magnetic field is determined by the current frequency in the three-phase AC winding. In this connection, the electrical connection system provides for the connection of the three-phase winding to the power system by means of a frequency converter. It is known from the theory of electric machines that the parameters of the induction-electric machine, to which the MHD DC generator can be attributed, depends on the amount of slip, that is on the relative difference of the linear movement speeds of the working body and the him braking magnetic field. With the supply of fixed frequency in the three-phase winding, the speed of the magnetic field is constant in the entire length of the working channel. To secure the function of the electric machine in generator mode, the speed of the magnetic field must be lower than the speed of movement of the working body. The induction currents resulting from the electromagnetic interaction lead to losses of the energy used to heat the working body. The efficiency of the generator depends mainly on these losses, which increase in the increase of the slip value. Therefore, lowering the slip nominal value substantially increases the effectiveness of the MHD alternator. To increase the efficiency of the MHD generator, a construction is proposed in which are mounted along the working channel instead of a plurality of separate three-phase AC windings. Each winding is fed with current of different frequency. As a result of the distribution by length, the slip value of each winding will be lower than the nominal slip value in one winding. The separate three-phase AC windings are connected to the power system by means of static frequency converters that produce the necessary power frequency for each of the separate windings. The constructive diagram of the MHD alternator is shown in Figure 1. The working chamber of MHD generator has the shape of a conical annular channel, which is formed by means of two cones. The outer cone is made of heat-resistant fabric, for. B. ceramic. He is with the entrance pipe 3 connected, through which the gas ionized as a result of fuel combustion in the working channel 1 is supplied. At the outlet, the working channel with the outlet pipe 4 connected. After the passage of the working channel 1 the gas gets through the pipe 4 supplied for use in the boiler turbine complex of the thermal power plant. The inner cone 5 is also made of heat-resistant fabric. From the input side of the gas flow becomes the cone 5 connected to the hydraulic extension. The forehead lobes 6 and 7 provide the necessary strength of the construction of the inner cone 5 for sure. The installation and fixing of the inner cone 5 inside the outer cone 2 from the entrance is made with the help of the keeper 8th executed, which is the Stirnansatzstück 6 in the pipe 3 Moors. From the gas outlet stops the holder 9 that in the pipe 4 installed brow piece 7 , The forehead lobes 6 and 7 and the holders 8th and 9 are made of heat-resistant materials, eg. B. ceramic. To create the magnetic field, the design shown in Figure 1 shows the installation on the outside of the conical ring channel 1 the three-phase AC winding 10 in front.

The three-phase AC winding 10 is made of superconducting wire, z. B. based on yttrium barium and is immersed in liquid nitrogen. To ensure the reliable function at the temperature of liquid nitrogen, the winding 10 in the cryostat 11 accommodated. Another method by which is an increase in magnetic induction in the working channel 1 can be achieved is the magnetic shield. For this purpose, from the outside of the superconducting AC winding 10 the ferromagnetic screen 12 Installed. The ferromagnetic outer screen is cone-shaped. To reduce the energy losses due to the effect of the magnetic alternating field is the screen 12 Fully braid, ie it is made as the transformer core. The shield of the magnetic field is also using the inner ferromagnetic screen 13 executed. The ferromagnetic screen 13 becomes on the inner surface of the inner cone 5 assembled. The ferromagnetic screen 13 is also made fully braided. With the help of the front cylinder 14 and 15 becomes the screen 13 with the lugs 6 and 7 connected. The coil three-phase winding 10 is using cylindrical liners 16 mounted, which separate a cylindrical coil from the other. The cylinders 16 are part of the magnetic line of the magnetic current. To reduce energy losses, the cylinders 16 made from individual insulated electrotechnical steel sheets. To ensure the strength of the construction, the winding coils 10 and the intermediate layers of two sides with cylindrical end plates 17 . 18 drawn together. The cryostat 11 , in which a superconducting AC winding is installed, is in the form of a Dewar vessel with vacuum shield insulation of the outer surface 19 which ensures the minimum heat input into the area of the winding arrangement. The inner cavity of the cryostat 11 has the shape of a cone and the outer cavity has the shape of a cylinder. The cryostat 11 has a disassemblable construction. In the metal structures, the alternating magnetic field generates eddy currents. In order to avoid energy losses and the shielding of the magnetic field, the inner cone surface of the cryostat becomes 20 made of non-metallic materials, for example of glass fabric. Liquid nitrogen, which acts as a cold agent, enters the anterior chamber of the cryostat 21 and poured into the cylindrical axis chamber. The chambers 21 and 22 are screens of the cryostat that protect the cryostat from external heat sources. The supply of liquid nitrogen from the chamber 22 in the superconducting winding 10 is using the vacuum tube 23 executed within the cylindrical holder of the ferromagnetic outer shield 24 go through. The liquid nitrogen gets into the chamber 25 supplied by two cylindrical intermediate layers 16 is formed. In the chamber 25 The liquid nitrogen cools the surface of the coils of the three-phase AC windings and the ferromagnetic screens 12 and 16 from. The gaseous nitrogen formed during the evaporation is introduced into the gas collection chamber in the front part of the cryostat 26 fed. In the inner ferromagnetic screen 13 Energy losses also occur during operation of the generator by the alternating magnetic field. The construction sees a water cooling of the screen 13 in front. The cooling water gets over the holder 9 fed into the conical chamber, which is located on the inner surface of the ferromagnetic screen 13 located.

Figure 2 shows the structural electrical breakdown of the connection of the MHD generator to the energy system. A distinctive feature of the proposed design of the MHD generator is the installation on the outer surface of the working channel rather than one of several AC windings along the channel. The MHD generator shown on the picture 1 has two three-phase AC windings 2 and 3 , The first winding 2 gets to the rails of the energy system 8th via the static frequency converter 4 and transformer 5 connected. The second winding 3 is about the static frequency converter 6 and transformer 7 connected. The first winding 2 is powered by AC f1 and the second winding 3 fed with alternating current f2. The frequencies at f1 and f2 are chosen to ensure the minimum slip value in each of the separate windings. The separation of the windings of the MHD generator makes it possible to significantly reduce the losses of eddy currents in the plasma and to increase the efficiency of the generator. The MHD generator works as follows. When starting the generator is in the chamber 21 and 22 of the cryostat 11 (Fig. 1) Liquid nitrogen supplied. After the flow of the channel 23 the liquid nitrogen fills the chambers 25 and the coils 10 The superconducting winding cools, while also cools the ferromagnetic outer screen 12 from. After the temperature of the liquid nitrogen is reached, the AC windings become 2 and 3 (Figure 2) to the energy system 8th connected. With the help of frequency converters 4 and 6 gets to the windings 2 and 3 Voltage supplied and in them creates electrical current, which is necessary for the formation of the magnetic field along the working channel. The MHD generator changes to the operating mode with reactive current feed, which is similar to the idling mode of an asynchronous motor. Through the entrance pipe 3 (Figure 1) is in the working channel 1 supplied hot gas - electrically conductive body in the plasma state. During the movement of the plasma in the running magnetic field arises in the AC windings 2 and 3 electromotive force and active current. During the braking of the plasma, the mechanical energy is transformed into electrical energy and into the energy system 8th fed. Gas that has passed through the working channel of the MHD generator is fed into the boiler turbine cycle for further use in the power plant.

The proposed design of the MHD alternator makes it possible to carry out a continuous operation with the necessary resource at the traditional thermal power plants, thereby increasing the efficiency of the power plant by 15%.

The proposed MHD generator can be realized as an energy source of the autonomous nuclear thermal energy system with gas heat carrier, which is used in spaceships.
