Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a reading and / or writing device for a Removable data disk, in particular a CD-ROM or a DVD, also a method for checking a removable data plate with a transponder and a method for Production of a removable data plate and a removable data plate.
For example, CD-ROM drives are known in computers with which the on a Data stored on the CD-ROM can be called up using the data stored on the CD-ROM stored programs, such as computer games, then on the Computer run out. The problem here is that with recordable CD-ROMs Possibility of unauthorized reproduction of a program can. As a result, the provider of the original CD-ROMs suffers an immense financial burden Damage as these pirated copies of the sales of the affected programs significantly to reduce. In order to prevent such product piracy, the manufacturers of Programs on CD-ROM's have partly gone over with every single CD-ROM to provide a transponder. A transponder is a chip that has an antenna is provided and can both receive and transmit on a radio frequency. By bringing the transponder close to a transmitter using the It is information that can be read from the chip of the transponder possible to check whether it is legal software or whether the CD-ROM is a pirated copy. Such a transmitter is outside the housing of the CD-ROM Drive attached. The transmitter is connected to a program in the computer, which checks whether the data transmitted by the transponder is such Data that belongs to a legal product or not. This is not the case, it is pirate goods, so that the CD - ROM drive by the software of the Computer is locked and the CD-ROM cannot be played. Such However, the device has the disadvantage that having legal software on the transmitter was brought past and by means of the software in the computer the CD-ROM drive for reading the CD-ROM has been activated, another CD-ROM in the drive can be inserted. This makes it possible, for example, for a large number of Jobs only a legal CD-ROM is purchased and only for identification the respective broadcaster is led past, but then a piracy item in the Drive is inserted. This also escapes the manufacturer of the CD-ROM Large revenue.
The object of the invention is therefore to ensure that in a reading and / or Writing device for a removable data plate only one legally acquired software can be played.
The task is performed by a reading and / or writing device with the characteristics of Claim 1 solved. This makes it possible for a Removable data plate a check of the inserted removable data plate on their Authenticity can take place. This means that through a non-contact Radio frequency method ensures that only a legally acquired one Removable data disk can be played. So only one runs on such a legal one Removable disk containing program on a computer. Such one inventive method is described with reference to claim 7. Through the The chip of the transponder is not used using a contactless method loaded, which leads to an almost unlimited lifespan. Besides, there is none Battery required to operate the chip, because the radio frequency method in the Transponder antenna induced voltage is sufficient so that the transponder on the Excitation of the transmitter can respond by sending a signal. Through the Arrangement of the antenna of the transmitter perpendicular to the direction of rotation of the drive element the best possible energy transfer between transmitter and transponder enables because the transponder antenna is aligned in the plane of the removable data plate is.
An advantageous development of the invention provides that the transmitter in immediate Is arranged near the contact surface. This makes it possible to have a very small one To use transponders, in particular, the transponder antenna can be extremely small be formed because the transmission and reception power because of the short distance between the transponder and the transmitter can be very small. By a Miniaturization of both the chip and the antenna of the transponder is one better integration of the transponder in the removable data plate possible.
An advantageous development of the invention provides that the transmitter in immediate Is arranged near the drive element. The transponder is usually adjacent to the breakthrough, which for receiving the drive element of the reading and / or Serves writing instrument, arranged in the removable data plate. Theoretically is one Arrangement also possible in another area of the removable data disk, but must it is an area where there is no data on the removable disk are saved. The area around the just described is most advantageous here Breakthrough around, the so-called stacking ring.
Another advantageous development of the invention provides that the transmitter at one extending over the loading bay on the bridge facing the loading bay Inner surface is attached. This makes it possible in a particularly simple manner to get very close with the transponder to the transmitter, the transponder rotates constantly below the transmitter. The bridge is used to accommodate a Replacement, which the removable data plate on the drive element of the reading and / or Pen presses firmly, so that a vibration-free sampling of the data on the Removable data plate is guaranteed.
It is also advantageous if the distance between the transmitter and one in one Removable data plate integrated transponder in the driven state no more than 5 mm is. This makes it possible to use transponders of the smallest type currently available to use. This miniaturization makes it possible to implement the Transponders in the removable data plate improved again.
Furthermore, it is advantageous if the facial expressions and peripherals of the transmitter of this is arranged spaced. This makes it possible to extreme the transmit / receive antenna close to the removable data plate. The read / write device is then in one Distance from this arranged. This can, for example, outside of the housing an extra housing or an extra board, because there is enough space there, quite in contrast to the compact reading and / or writing device. It is the same possible to arrange these parts within the housing, for example. The facial expressions can in the Control of the reading and / or writing device can be implemented. So that's one Sealing possible and CE certification is achieved.
The task is also accomplished using a method of manufacturing a removable data disk solved the features of claim 8. This ensures that a Removable data plate is clearly identifiable and therefore only this authentic Removable data plate played in a reading and / or writing device according to the invention can be. By arranging the transponder on the blank area, z. B. within the stacking ring, is stored on the removable data disk Information is not affected. By covering the transponder with sealing compound cannot be removed from the removable data plate.
An advantageous further development of the invention of this method is achieved by that before placing the transponder on the blank area this area with holes. As a result, the liquid sealing compound also flows into the holes and thus ensures a very secure hold of the seal on the Removable disk. The holes act like an anchoring that froze Seal compound connects to the removable data plate.
A further advantageous development of the invention provides that before the arrangement of the transponder in the blank area, a recess is made in this, then the transponder is inserted into this recess and then the recess is completely filled with the heated liquid sealing compound. By embedding of the transponder in the body of the removable data plate, for example the polycarbonate a CD-ROM, is a good protection against mechanical destruction of the transponder guaranteed. This is particularly important with regard to the very fine antenna wire, because it can easily tear due to mechanical influence.
Another advantageous development of the invention provides that the transponder covering with sealing compound is glued to the blank area. By sticking the transponder to the removable data plate ensures that a Moving the transponder on this is made impossible. This does not exist the risk that the transponder is under the sealing compound covering it For example, it slips into the area where the data is on the removable data disk are saved. In addition, a non-destructive detachment of the Transponders from the removable data plate made almost impossible. This means, that it is almost impossible to remove the transponder from the authorized removable data disk to replace and transfer to an unauthorized removable data disk. Moreover copying and thus falsifying the transponder is largely prevented.
Furthermore, the object is achieved by a method according to claim 12. By evaporating and / or etching the antenna, it is possible to make very small and fine ones To achieve structures for the transponder. In principle, such a vapor deposition and Etching process known, but not in connection with a removable data plate. there the surface of the removable data plate, for example a Polycarbonate CD-ROM treated with such a process. Advantageously is vapor-deposited and etched transponders on the surface of the removable data plate covered with a sealing compound. This provides good protection against mechanical Destroying the transponder ensures.
An advantageous development of the invention of this method provides that the Transponder is completely covered with sealing compound. This makes it extremely safe Encapsulation of the transponder guaranteed. On the one hand, this increases the certainty that no pirated copy is possible, and secondly, this ensures a particularly good one Protection against mechanical influences. This means that the transponder is not can be damaged or even destroyed, which would result in the Removable data plate can no longer be played because a check of the Transponders would then no longer be guaranteed by the transmitter.
Another advantageous development of the invention provides that as a sealing compound Thermoset is used. Such a manufacturing process ensures that the transponder once implemented in the removable data plate is no longer can be exposed without both the removable data disk and the Transponders are destroyed. By using a thermosetting sealing compound it can no longer be liquefied by heating or the like. So that's a Copying the transponder almost impossible.
Weitere Einzelheiten der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Further details of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
Es zeigen:In the following, the invention is illustrated by means of the one in the drawings Exemplary embodiments explained in more detail. Show it:

The invention is described below with reference to a reading and / or writing device 1 in the form of a CD-ROM drive in connection with a CD-ROM as a removable data plate 2 . However, this is in no case restrictive, since other removable data disks 2 , such as, for example, DVDs with DVD players, function in principle in the same way in connection with the associated reading and / or writing device 1 . The same reference numbers are used for identical and functionally identical parts.
In Figs. 1 and 2, a CD-ROM drive 1 is illustrated schematically. A conventional known drive serves as the basis for a CD-ROM drive 1 according to the invention. Therefore, only the essential components of such a drive and the changes made according to the invention are described below. The devices required for playing a CD-ROM 2 (see FIGS. 3 to 6) are shown schematically in a metallic housing 8 . A loading bay 3 is displaceably mounted on a plate 19 , so that a CD-ROM 2 can be inserted or removed via a carriage moving out of the CD-ROM drive 1 in the direction of the direction of movement R. For this purpose, it is placed on a support surface 4 formed on the loading bay 3 . The CD-ROM 2 is driven by a drive element 5 during playback. The drive element 5 is set in rotation by a drive motor 20, only shown schematically, via a drive shaft 21 . The drive element 5 is designed as a mandrel which engages through a central opening 22 in the CD-ROM 2 (see FIGS. 3 to 6). Reduce to a vertical movement of the CD-ROM 2 to prevent and thus the vibration susceptibility of the CD-ROM drive 1, the CD-ROM 2, pressed by a clamping member 23 which is formed as a negative mold of the drive means 5 to the drive means. 5 This is done in that the clamping element 23 is slidably mounted on a bridge 12 along a vertical arrow P. The bridge 12 is fastened to the plate 19 and spanned, the loading bay 3 in an area in which the drive element 5 is arranged. The clamping element 23 is arranged in the extension of the drive axis 21 .
A transmitter 9 with an antenna 10 is attached to the bridge 12 . The transmitter 9 and the antenna 10 are arranged on the inner surface 13 , facing the loading bay 3 . The transmitter 9 with antenna 10 is arranged close to the clamping element 23 and thus also in the vicinity of the drive element 5 . This means that the transmitter 9 and antenna 10 are arranged above an unrecorded part 24 of the CD-ROM 2 in the inserted state. This is the area in which the transponder 11 is arranged on the CD-ROM 2 . The antenna 10 is arranged in a plane parallel to the plane in which the CD-ROM 2 is located during playback. As a result, both the antenna 10 and the transponder antenna 15 are aligned in parallel, which means that the transponder 11 only has to have a low transmission power. The transmission power required is further reduced by the fact that the antenna 10 and the transponder antenna 15 run directly past one another in a horizontal alignment when playing at a very close distance. A distance of 5 mm can be achieved. The transmitter 9 is connected via cable 25 to an interface 26 . This can be both a parallel and a serial interface 26 . In addition, without being exhaustive, it may also be a card slot on the CD-ROM motherboard or a SCSI interface. Via this interface 26 , the data which the transmitter 9 receives from the transponder 11 are forwarded to a computer (not shown), which then checks the authenticity of the CD-ROM 2 . More details are given below.
It is also possible that only the antenna 10 of the transmitter 9 is arranged at the location described above and all other components of the transmitter 9 , for example its facial expressions and peripherals, are arranged far away from the antenna 10 ; this can also be outside the housing 8 , for example. For this purpose, only the cables 25 have to be led from the antenna 10 to these parts.
In addition to the parts described above, FIG. 2 also shows the reading device 6 in the form of a laser. The laser scans the recorded area 7 of the CD-ROM 2 (see FIGS. 3 to 6) in a known manner. The laser 6 is accommodated in a housing 27 , which is moved along the rails R along two rails 28 below an inserted CD-ROM 2 (not shown).
In addition to a CD-ROM drive 1 with a bridge 12 , as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the use of a CD-ROM drive 1 without such a bridge 12 is also possible. In such a CD-ROM drive 1 , the antenna 10 of the transmitter 9 can be attached to one of the two inner sides of the housing oriented parallel to the CD-ROM 2 . It does not matter how the transponder 11 is arranged on the CD-ROM 2 : it can be arranged on the side facing the transmitter 9 , the side facing away from it or embedded in the polycarbonate of the CD-ROM 2 . The radio frequency waves from the transmitter 9 or the transponder 11 penetrate the polycarbonate layer without problems. Furthermore, there is the possibility of arranging the antenna 10 of the transmitter 9 in the immediate vicinity of the CD-ROM 2 by being arranged on one of the rails 28 along which the laser 6 is guided when the CD-ROM 2 is scanned. An arrangement of the transmitter 9 is not only possible, as described above, in a metallic housing 8 , but just as well in a plastic housing. In the case of a drive element 5 mounted only on one side, it is also possible to arrange the transmitter 9 with antenna 10 opposite the free end of the drive element 5 . This also ensures that the smallest possible distance between a transponder 11 , which is integrated in an inserted CD-ROM 2 , and the transmitter 9 .
In FIGS. 3 and 4, a CD-ROM 2 is represented, which has a transponder 11, can be effected by means of which the authenticity of the CD-ROM 2 with an above-described CD-ROM drive 1. The CD-ROM 2 has a recorded area 7 and a blank area 24 arranged around a central opening 22 . In the blank area 24 , a recess 16 is formed in the form of a concentric groove around the central opening 22 . This can be clearly seen in FIG. 4. A transponder 11 , which is formed from a chip 14 with a transponder antenna 15 , is embedded in the recess 16 . Such transponders 11 are known, so that their construction will not be discussed further. After the transponder 11 is inserted into the recess 16 , the recess 16 is completely filled with a heated liquid sealing compound 17 . After the sealing compound 17 has cooled and thus hardened, the transponder 11 is encapsulated in the body of the CD-ROM 2 . A thermoset is used as sealing compound 17 . This ensures that after the sealing compound 17 has hardened, the chip 14 can no longer be removed from the recess 16 without being destroyed. This makes copying of the chip 14 impossible. A complete encapsulation of the transponder 11 is possible because the request for a transponder 11 is a contactless method. Such methods are well known. They usually work with radio frequency waves. There is no further discussion of how these processes work in general.
The use of a CD-ROM 2 with a transponder 11 directly in a CD-ROM drive 1 according to the invention ensures that only an authentic CD-ROM 2 can be played. This takes place in that when the CD-ROM 2 is played, the transponder 11 constantly rotates below the antenna 10 of the transmitter 9 . The transmitter 9 emits a signal which is received by the transponder 11 and which stimulates the transponder 11 to send its own data back to the transmitter 9 . This data is encrypted and uniquely identifies this one transponder 11 . The transmitter 9 , which then acts as a receiver, forwards the data via the lines 25 to the interface 26 . The data of the transponder 11 are forwarded from the interface 26 to the computer, which uses suitable software to check the authenticity of the data from the transponder 11 . The check can also be done via the Internet or a telephone line. If there is no authenticity, reading out of the data 7 stored on the CD-ROM 2 is prevented. The data 7 stored on the CD-ROM 2 cannot then be downloaded from the latter, and this CD-ROM 2 is unusable for the user. The interrogation of the data of the transponder 11 by the transmitter 9 is carried out cyclically, so that it is not possible to first insert an authentic CD-ROM 2 briefly into the CD-ROM drive 1 until the authenticity of the CD-ROM 2 is established and then replace this CD-ROM 2 with another CD-ROM 2 . It is no longer possible to play pirated copies of an original CD-ROM 2 . For example, it can also be used to prevent the products of another manufacturer, as well as piracy goods, from being played on a play station from a particular manufacturer.
In addition, a large number of other possible uses are conceivable, for example via a telephone line or the Internet. It is possible to order goods online or to book hotel rooms, ski passes, tickets, etc. The CD-ROM 2 , which is provided with the transponder 11 , then serves as the key in the hotel, admission ticket or ski pass. For this it is advisable not to design the CD-ROM 2 as round, but in the form of a business card, for example. Such CD-ROMs 2 are already known, so that we will not describe them in more detail here.
Another possible application is in the area of banking. With such a combination of CD-ROM 2 and CD-ROM drive 1 described above, a Secure Data Interchange (SDI) is possible. The sensitive data can be encrypted at different levels. On the one hand, this can happen when the transmitter 9 is addressed by entering a password at this point in time. Furthermore, the transmitter 9 must then pass on the correct password to the transponder 11 so that the latter even sends data back to the transmitter 9 . In addition, further security levels can be installed, which are not discussed in detail here, since they are not relevant to the invention.
Im Übrigen entspricht die CD-ROM 2 hinsichtlich der Anordnung von unbespieltem Bereich 24 und gespeicherten Daten 7 den bekannten CD-ROM's 2.In Fig. 5 a segment of a CD-ROM 2 is shown, which contains a very small transponder 11. This transponder 11 is also encapsulated in a recess 16 by a sealing compound 17 . Such a small transponder 11 , which has a very small antenna 15 and an extremely small chip 14 , can be used because the CD-ROM drive 1 ensures that the transmitter 9 comes very close to the transponder 11 and thereby only an extremely low transmission power of the transponder 11 is required. Even such a small chip 14 has enough storage space so that the data stored on it can be encrypted for an SDI. Incidentally 2, the CD-ROM corresponding to the arrangement of unbespieltem area 24 and stored data 7 to the known CD-ROM's. 2
In Fig. 6, another CD-ROM 2 is shown with a transponder 11 mounted thereon, which can be used in an inventive CD-ROM drive 1. A soft label 18 is glued onto the pre-recorded CD-ROM 2 . This can consist of paper, for example. The transponder 11 with chip 14 and transponder antenna 15 is arranged on the soft label 18 , for example by gluing. Completed CD-ROMs 2 , which are manufactured according to a conventional manufacturing principle, can thus be subsequently equipped with a transponder 11 . This means that authentic CD-ROMs 2 can be manufactured very inexpensively. To glue instead of the CD-ROM 2 with a large soft label 18, the entire surface of the CD-ROM 2 is covered, it is also possible to use a small label, on which the transponder 11 is arranged.
