背景技术
泡罩包装是由基材例如纸板与密封到该基材上的可塑层一起形成的。可塑层具有符合被包装产品的尺寸和形状的气泡或者隔室。药品、例如片剂通常被包装在泡罩包装中,每个片剂单独地固定在一个气泡内。
作为任何类型包装中的药物的一个共同问题,包装必须可由使用该药物的人使用,但同时必须是防止儿童误开的(child-resistant)。这就提出了一些问题,特别是当药物容器缺乏手工使用时的方便性或者强度时更是如此。
本发明的目的是提供用于包装的层合纸板基材,该包装可以防止儿童误开,但是仍然易于由预定的消费者打开。
本发明的另一个目的是提供用于包装的层合纸板基材,其中打开该包装所需要的强度可以得到控制。
本发明的另一个目的是提供用于泡罩包装的层合纸板基材,其在制造期间不粘合于冷却辊。
本发明的另一个目的是提供一种基材,其易于粘接到起泡材料,包括PVC、Aclar和PET上。
本发明的另一个目的是提供一种包装,其制造是廉价的。

发明内容
包装层合材料由纸板基材与密封到该基材的可塑起泡层形成。该包装层合材料包括用于提供基材层的纸板基材、施加到所述基材上的耐撕裂聚合物层和施加到所述耐撕裂聚合物上的热封聚合物层。该层合结构特别可用于泡罩包装。由于存在耐撕裂层,因此为了取到泡罩包装的内容物,必须按照一系列说明去做。撕裂强度可以通过利用几种方法中的一种来调节耐撕裂聚合物对纸板的粘合性水平来控制。可以将图案化的、粘合性底涂层的涂层施加到纸板上。此外,还可以将图案化的粘合抑制剂的涂层施加于纸板。可选择地,形成耐撕裂层的熔融聚合物物流可以从具有图案化夹辊的挤出模头施加于纸板。利用这种调节的粘合性可以在包装体中获得较高的撕裂强度和在由包装设计和几何形状限定的特定区域中具有较低的水平。这使得预定消费者可以容易地取到泡罩包装的内容物,而仍然形成防止儿童误开的层。

发明详述
用于生产泡罩包装的基材的层合材料示于图1中。该包装层合材料包括用于提供基材层的纸板基材、施加到所述基材上的耐撕裂聚合物层和施加到所述耐撕裂聚合物上的热封聚合物层。纸板层12提供了基材的基材层,耐撕裂聚合物层14被施加到纸板上,以提供防止儿童打开的功能。纸板层12最适合地是优质纸板纸料,例如100-300磅或者更高重量的纸板纸箱纸板。热封聚合物层16被用作层合材料的外层,并且为可塑起泡层提供了良好的粘接表面。
耐撕裂聚合物层14可以是聚酰胺,例如尼龙6、尼龙(6,6)、尼龙(6,12)或者其他聚酰胺,聚酯,聚氨酯,嵌段共聚物,不饱和嵌段共聚物例如苯乙烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯、苯乙烯-异戊二烯-苯乙烯等等;饱和嵌段共聚物例如苯乙烯-乙烯/丁烯-苯乙烯、苯乙烯-乙烯/丙烯-苯乙烯等等)或者其他具有高耐撕裂性能的材料。用于生产耐撕裂层的聚合物可以与另一种聚合物共混,所述另一种聚合物选自乙烯共聚物例如离聚物、醋酸乙烯酯、甲基丙烯酸或者丙烯酸共聚物。
耐撕裂聚合物层的薄膜重量可以是2到50磅每3000平方英尺,优选的重量为5到30磅每3000平方英尺。
耐撕裂聚合物的共混物包括:60到100重量百分数的聚酰胺,例如尼龙6、尼龙(6,6)、尼龙(6,12)或者其他聚酰胺,聚酯,聚氨酯,嵌段共聚物,不饱和嵌段共聚物例如苯乙烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯、苯乙烯-异戊二烯-苯乙烯等等;饱和嵌段共聚物例如苯乙烯-乙烯/丁烯-苯乙烯、苯乙烯-乙烯/丙烯-苯乙烯,以及其他具有高耐撕裂性能的材料,和被共混的0到40重量百分数的其他的聚合物,包括乙烯共聚物例如离聚物、醋酸乙烯酯、甲基丙烯酸或者丙烯酸共聚物。
热封聚合物层16由对PVC、Aclar、PET和其他用于生产起泡层的材料具有优良的热封性能的材料形成。热封聚合物层选自EVA、EMA、离聚物、丙烯酸系共聚物、丙烯酸酯共聚物和类似的改性产品。
热封聚合物层的薄膜重量可以是3到15磅每3000平方英尺,优选的重量具有8磅每3000平方英尺。
热封聚合物可以包括防粘连剂,以降低密封剂层的粘性。防粘连剂可以是碳酸钙、滑石、二氧化硅或者其他适合的材料。
图2描述了在耐撕裂聚合物层14和热封聚合物层16之间使用结合层18的层合材料,例如以商标TYMOR销售的结合材料涂料,或更具体地,TYMOR 1205,使用的涂布量为大约4磅每3000平方英尺令(ream)。销售的结合材料涂料是在其上接枝有官能团的聚乙烯主链聚合物,例如马来酸酐共聚物。适合的结合层选自包括接枝有例如马来酸酐等物质的聚合物的材料。薄膜重量为1到12磅每3000平方英尺、优选1到3磅每3000平方英尺。
图3描述了在纸板层12和耐撕裂聚合物层14之间使用结合层18的层合材料。同样地,图4描述了在纸板层12和耐撕裂聚合物层之间和在耐撕裂聚合物层14和热封聚合物层16之间具有结合层18的层合材料。粘土涂层可以在纸板基材的与耐撕裂和热封聚合物相反的侧面上形成,以提高打印质量。
层合材料撕裂强度可以通过改变耐撕裂聚合物层的薄膜重量来控制,提高的薄膜重量导致提高的抗撕裂强度。此外,在制造期间,在耐撕裂聚合物层中可以提供模头切割或者穿孔。这些产生了受控的薄弱区域,以引导包装的撕裂,限制包装可以被打开的方向。
此外,调节耐撕裂聚合物和纸板之间的粘合水平能够控制抗撕裂水平。这可以通过在纸板12和耐撕裂聚合物14之间加入粘合促进底涂层22来做到。用于粘合促进底涂层的适合的材料包括聚乙烯胺,其以1到6磅每3000平方英尺、优选1磅每3000平方英尺的量涂覆。如图5所示,粘合底涂层在将耐撕裂聚合物挤出到基材上之前被施加到纸板12。
粘合促进底涂层22可以不连续的图案涂覆,以在耐撕裂聚合物与纸板之间产生有差别的粘合。这种不连续的图案示于图6。借助于不连续的图案产生的较弱的粘合区域能够设定打开包装以取出内容物所必需的步骤。
可选择地,粘合抑制剂可以涂覆在纸板和耐撕裂聚合物之间。适合的粘合抑制剂包括硅氧烷、漆或者清漆,其以1到6磅每3000平方英尺、优选1到2磅每3000平方英尺的量涂覆。粘合抑制剂还可以不连续的图案涂覆,以在耐撕裂聚合物与纸板之间产生有差别的粘合。该有差别的粘合同样产生一种形式,可以按照该形式取到内容物。
图7描述了用于在纸板基材上涂覆粘合性底涂层或者粘合抑制剂的方法。纸板辊30将未涂底涂层的网状物32进料到凹槽辊35和支承辊36之间,在这里涂覆粘合性底涂层或者粘合抑制剂。在涂覆之后,湿的涂层纸板38通过干燥机40,干燥的涂底涂层的网状物42从干燥机40出来。当耐撕裂聚合物被施加到纸板上时,有差别的粘合还可以通过利用挤出生产线上的图案化的夹辊来获得。该方法描述于图8。夹辊与冷却辊配合,从而产生不均匀的图案,导致不同粘合性的区域。纸板网状物12在冷却辊50和夹辊52之间进料。挤出机驱动48提供熔融耐撕裂聚合物。然后,得到的双层结构在第二个冷却辊50和夹辊52之间进料,其中挤出机模头将熔融热封聚合物16涂覆。成品层合材料10从第二个冷却辊出来。
得到的层合材料,在温度为250-400华氏度和压力为40-80psi以及停留时间为1到2秒的条件下,易于作为纸板对纸板以及纸板对泡罩进行粘接。低受热是缘于降低的热封引发温度和较短的停留时间。这对于例如药物、nutraceuticals和化妆品等产品是关键的,这些产品会因为受热而破坏。在各种密封条件下,本发明层合材料对它本身和普通的泡罩材料的粘合强度汇总于下表中。

在本发明可选择的实施方案中,耐撕裂聚合物可以与具有热封性质的聚合物共混。在这种情况下,如图9所示,在单层中获得了具有耐撕裂性和对泡罩层的热封能力的单层15。
在本发明的另一个实施方案中,耐撕裂聚合物可以是层合到纸板基材上的耐撕裂聚合物薄膜。为了挤出层合,该薄膜可以借助于结合层18附着。然后将热封聚合物施加于耐撕裂聚合物薄膜的外侧。在该实施方案中,所述薄膜可以是取向膜,例如取向的或者双轴取向的聚酰胺、取向的聚酯等等。优选实施方案是横向取向的HDPE薄膜,其以商品名Valeron销售,薄膜厚度为1到3密耳,优选1到1.5密耳。该薄膜可以借助于粘合剂或者挤出层合而被层合。如果使用了粘合剂层合,可以使用任何适合的液体粘合剂,例如乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯、聚氨酯、丙烯酸类或者丙烯酸酯聚合物等等,以代替结合层。耐撕裂薄膜包括聚酰胺薄膜,例如尼龙6、尼龙(6,6)、尼龙(6,12)或者其他聚酰胺的薄膜,聚酯,聚氨酯,嵌段共聚物包括不饱和嵌段共聚物,例如苯乙烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯、苯乙烯-异戊二烯-苯乙烯等等;饱和嵌段共聚物例如苯乙烯-乙烯/丁烯-苯乙烯、苯乙烯-乙烯/丙烯-苯乙烯等等或者其他具有高耐撕裂性能的材料。用于生产耐撕裂层的聚合物薄膜可以与其它聚合物共混,所述其它聚合物选自乙烯共聚物例如离聚物、醋酸乙烯酯、甲基丙烯酸或者丙烯酸共聚物。薄膜厚度可以在0.0005和0.002英寸之间、优选0.0005英寸。

Claims (27)
1.一种泡罩包装层合材料,其包括:
用于提供基材层的基材,
被施加于所述基材上用于防止儿童误开的耐撕裂聚合物层,和
施加于所述耐撕裂聚合物上的热封聚合物层。
2.权利要求1的层合材料,其中所述基材是纸板。
3.权利要求1的层合材料,其中所述耐撕裂聚合物是聚酰胺、聚酯、聚氨酯或者嵌段共聚物。

8.权利要求1的层合材料,其还包括在所述基材和所述耐撕裂聚合物层之间的结合层。
9.权利要求1的层合材料,其还包括在所述耐撕裂层和所述热封聚合物层之间的结合层。
10.权利要求1的层合材料,其还包括在所述基材和耐撕裂聚合物层之间的粘合剂底涂层的层。
11.权利要求10的层合材料,其中所述粘合剂底涂层是不连续层。
12.权利要求10的层合材料,其中所述粘合剂底涂层使用夹辊涂覆。
13.权利要求10的层合材料,其中所述粘合剂底涂层是聚乙烯胺。
14.权利要求1的层合材料,其还包括在所述基材和耐撕裂聚合物层之间的粘合抑制剂层。
15.权利要求14的层合材料,其中所述粘合抑制剂是不连续层。
16.权利要求14的层合材料,其中所述粘合抑制剂使用夹辊涂覆。
17.权利要求14的层合材料,其中所述粘合抑制剂包括硅氧烷。
18.一种泡罩包装层合材料,其包括:
用于提供基材层的基材,
与热封聚合物共混并且被施加于所述基材上的用于提供防止儿童误开的功能和热封性能两者的耐撕裂聚合物层。
19.权利要求18的层合材料,其中所述耐撕裂聚合物是层合到纸板基材上的聚合物薄膜。
20.权利要求19的层合材料,其中所述聚合物薄膜是取向膜。
21.一种制造包装基材的方法,其包括
提供基材,
在所述基材上涂覆用于防止儿童误开的耐撕裂聚合物,和
在所述耐撕裂聚合物上涂覆热封聚合物。
22.权利要求21的方法,其还包括通过挤出来涂覆所述耐撕裂聚合物和热封聚合物。
23.权利要求21的方法,其还包括在所述耐撕裂层和所述热封层之间施加结合层。
24.权利要求21的方法,其还包括在与耐撕裂聚合物相对的基材表面上施加粘土涂层。
25.权利要求21的方法,其还包括在所述基材和所述耐撕裂聚合物之间施加粘合性底涂层或者粘合抑制剂的一种。
26.权利要求25的方法,其还包括以不连续层施加所述粘合性底涂层或者粘合抑制剂。
27.权利要求25的方法,其还包括使用夹辊施加所述粘合性底涂层或者粘合抑制剂。
