机顶盒系统及观看数字广播的方法
技术领域
本发明涉及一种通信装置,更具体地,涉及一个机顶盒系统及采用一台机顶盒在多台电视(TVs)上观看数字广播的方法。
背景技术
目前,正在提供的数字测试广播服务使得对高质量图像或高质量声音的需求快速增长。为了在现有的模拟电视上观看数字广播,用户(即,电视观看者)必须在现有的模拟电视上配备机顶盒。但是,在使用这样的机顶盒来观看数字广播的情况下,用户只能在一台电视上观看数字广播。
传统的单向RF(射频)发射机/接收机(发射机和接收机)系统具有多个RF发射机和一个RF接收机,从源接收的信号通过四个频道传送给RF接收机,以及用户能够按照四个频道中选定的那个频道观看电视。这种数字广播技术将基于NTSC(国家电视标准委员会)标准的频率信号调制成2.4GHz具有100kHz带宽的ISM(工业、科学、医学)频段频率信号,这样形成了四个频道。但是,每个频道都被用作具有DVD(数字通用光盘播放器)或VCR(录像机)产生的一组广播数据流的源的传输媒质。

图1是描述传统单向RF(射频)发射机/接收机系统的典型结构图。如图1所示,在所用的单向RF发射机/接收机系统具有多个RF发射机2、4、6和8以及RF接收机10的情况下,从四个源12、14、16和18接收的信号通过四个频道被传输到RF接收机10,用户可以根据选定的四个频道之一来观看电视20。这种数字广播技术将基于NTSC(国家电视标准委员会)标准的频率信号调制成2.4GHz具有100kHz带宽的ISM(工业、科学、医学)频段频率信号,这样形成了四个频道。但是,每个频道都被用作具有DVD(数字通用光盘播放器)或VCR(录像机)产生的一组广播数据流的源的传输媒质。

传送DEMUXs 64-1,64-2,…,64-n在接收到微处理器66的控制信号时分别把输入的多节目传送流的PID作用于存储在存储器68中的节目指南数据库88。微处理器66依靠PID更新按照PSIP(节目特殊信息协议)配置的存储器68的节目指南数据库88。PSI(节目特殊信息)在MPEG-2系统标准中被定义,并且包括在传送流中的节目流和网络信息等的复用内容。因此,节目指南数据库88由四个表组成,即,PAT(节目关联表),PMT(节目映射表),NIT(网络信息表)和CAT(条件存取表)。PAT是指示包含多路分解每个节目所需的信息的对应PMT的PID的表格。PMT是包含具有一个节目的音频和视频流的PIC的表格。NIT是包含如FDM频率和卫星交换中心频率等物理参数的表格。CAT是用于管理用户的表格。
同时,在室内观看电视节目的观众通过安装机顶盒30想观看其他数字广播节目而不是目前的数字广播节目的情况中,电视观众利用放置在室内的蓝牙遥控器36按广播改变按钮,从而在电视机上观看想要的数字广播节目。即,电视观众利用放置在电视机附近的蓝牙遥控器36激活了节目选择请求信号。在电视观众要求蓝牙遥控器36改变予频道到另一子频道的情况下,对应于所要求的节目的频道信息和电视机ID(标识)按照局域无线通信方法通过蓝牙模块32被传输给微处理器66。微处理器66在存储器68中存储用户通过用户接口74所要的主频道,作为基本频道,并通过蓝牙模块32接收从分别安放电视机40、44、48和52的房间中的电视观众那里接收的频道信息。频道信息指示了对应于用户所要的广播节目的子频道信息。因此,在微处理器66通过蓝牙模块32接收电视机ID和频道信息的情况下,它通过使用频道信息,在多节目流上的PID信息,以及节目指南数据库88的表格控制多个传送DEMUX 64-k来选择在相应的子频道上的单一节目的MPEG-2视频位流,AC-3位流和PCR(节目时钟参考)信息。从而,每个传送DEMUX 64-k(其中k=1、2、…、n)按照接收微处理器66的控制信号多路分解多节目传送流,获得在节目指南数据库88中预设不同的子频道上单一节目的MPEG-2视频位流,AC-3音频位流和PCR信息,然后输出得到的流和信息给相应的单一节目解码器70-k(其中k=1、2、…、n)。每个单一节目解码器70-k(其中k=1、2、…、n)解码将在电视上被观看的MPEG-2视频分组和AC-3音频分组,并产生单一节目的视频信号V和音频信号A。单一节目解码器70-k(其中k=1、2、…、n)包括MPEG-2解码器80、AC-3解码器82以及时钟还原与A/V(音频和视频)同步器84。MPEG-2解码器80解码MPEG-2视频位流并传输解码结果给显示处理器86。显示处理器86按照用户请求信号(例如,用于调整视频分辨率的信号)处理MPEG-2解码器80解码的视频信号,然后产生处理过的视频信号作为视频信号V。AC-3解码器82解码AC-3音频位流,并产生解码结果作为音频信号A。时钟还原与A/V同步器84接收MPEG-2视频位流和AC-3音频位流的时标信息,以及PCR(节目时钟参考)信息,允许MPEG-2解码器80和AC-3解码器82分别提取音频和视频位流,并控制MPEG-2解码器80和AC-3解码器82建立时钟同步。
单一节目解码器70-1,70-2,…,70-n解码的单一节目的视频信号V和音频信号A,在接收到微处理器66的控制信号时分别被多路复用器MUX 72复用,然后应用于RF发射机34。
RF发射机34基于从每个房间中的电视观众接收的频道信息,在视频信号V和音频信号A上进行FM(频率调制)调制,从而在每个频率上加载信号V和A。
参照图5将对RF发射机34进行详细地描述。如图5所示,被多个单一节目解码器70-1,70-2,…,70-n解码的单一节目的视频信号V和音频信号A包括视频A 90与音频A 92和94。视频A 90与音频A 92和94被应用于FM调制器98。同样,微处理器66按照从在每个具有电视机40、44、48和52以及电视机ID的房间中的每个电视观众那里接收的频道信息控制PLL(锁相环)96,然后传输相应的载波信号给FM调制器98。从而,FM调制器98在相应的载波信号上加载视频A90与音频A92和94,然后将其作为子频道FM信号传输给子频道混频器100。子频道混频器100对从FM调制器98产生的子频道FM信号进行混频,然后传送混频的子频道FM信号给带通滤波器(BPF)102。从子频道混频器100产生的混频子频道FM信号被BPF102滤波,功率放大器(P/A)104放大滤波后的FM信号的功率,然后通过天线106无线传输放大的信号。
RF接收机38、42、46和50分别被安装在不同的房间中,每个RF接收机只接收预定的频率。RF接收机38、42、46和50接收从机顶盒30产生的输出信号,并进行FM解调。之后,解调信号被分类成音频和视频信号,然后以电视机40、44、48和52接收电视观众想要的子频道携带的单一节目的方式应用于相应的电视机40、44、48和52。结果,电视观众可以在电视上观看他或她想要的节目。
如上描述所表明的那样,尽管本发明使用一台机顶盒,但其允许电视观众在多台电视机上观看不同的数字广播节目。
尽管为了例证的目的公开了本发明的优选实施例,在不偏离随后公开的权利要求中的本发明的范围和精神的条件下,本领域的技术人员可以对其进行多种的修改、附加和替代。

Claims (10)

1、一个用于观看数字广播的机顶盒系统,包括:
多台电视机;以及
一台机顶盒,接收由多节目组成的数字广播,并传输由电视观众的节目选择请求所选择的单一节目给所述多台电视机,
所述机顶盒包括:
包括数字广播的节目指南数据库的存储器;
调谐器和解调器,在接收的数字广播中选择和解调在存储器中预设的主频道的数字广播,并产生解调的数字广播,作为多节目传送流;
控制器,用于通过采用多节目传送流的分组标识信息和节目指南数据库来控制对应于电视观众的每个节目选择请求的子频道;
多个传送多路分解器,在接收到所述控制器的控制信号时,选择子频道来响应电视观众的每个节目选择请求,并在所选的子频道上分别提供单一节目;
用于分别解码单一节目的多个单一节目解码器;以及
用于传输解码的单一节目的发射机。
2、按照权利要求1所述的机顶盒系统,其特征在于所述发射机包括提供解码的单一节目的混频的射频发射机,并传输混频的射频信号到所述多台电视机。
3、按照权利要求1所述的机顶盒系统,其特征在于还包括:
所述多台电视机附近的局域无线通信遥控器,在距所述机顶盒最近的距离,提供响应电视观众的节目选择请求的无线传输频道以及对应的电视机标识信息给所述的机顶盒;以及
放置于所述机顶盒中的局域通信单元,接收对应于频道信息的电视机标识信息,并提供接收的电视机标识信息给所述控制器。
4、一种使用机顶盒系统来观看数字广播的方法,所述机顶盒系统包括多台电视机,和用于接收包括多节目的数字广播并按照电视观众的节目选择请求传输单一节目到多台电视机的一台机顶盒,该方法包括以下步骤:
当在电视机的附近出现来自电视观众的节目选择请求时,通过遥控器无线传输对应于节目选择请求的频道信息和对应的电视机标识信息到所述机顶盒;
通过所述机顶盒在接收的数字广播中选择和解调在存储器中预设的主频道的数字广播,产生解调的数字广播作为多节目传送流,通过采用请求的频道信息、多节目传送流的分组标识信息和节目指南数据库来选择子频道以响应节目选择请求,并在选择的子频道上提供每个单一节目;以及
通过所述机顶盒解码每个被提供的单一节目,通过采用对应的电视机标识信息来无线传输解码的结果信号到电视机。
5、按照权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于频道信息是对应于电视观众的想要的节目的子频道信息。
6、按照权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于遥控器按照蓝牙局域无线通信方法无线传输请求的频道信息和对应的电视机标识信息到所述机顶盒。
7、按照权利要求5所述的方法,其特征在于遥控器按照蓝牙局域无线通信方法无线传输请求的频道信息和对应的电视机标识信息到所述机顶盒。
8、一种使用机顶盒系统来观看数字广播的方法,包括:
当在多个预定设备中之一的附近出现节目选择请求时,通过遥控器传输对应于节目选择请求的频道信息和对应的预定设备标识信息给机顶盒,预定设备提供数字广播的显示,机顶盒接收包括多节目的数字广播并传输单一节目到做出节目选择请求的多个预定设备中的任一预定设备,所述机顶盒与所述多个预定设备具有通信链接;
通过所述机顶盒,在接收的数字广播中选择和解调在存储器中预设的主频道的数字广播;
通过所述机顶盒,产生解调的信号作为多节目传送流;
通过所述机顶盒,通过采用请求的频道信息、多节目传送流的分组标识信息和节目指南数据库来选择子频道以响应节目选择请求,并在选择的子频道上提供每个单一节目;以及
通过所述机顶盒,解码每个被提供的单一节目,通过采用对应的预定设备标识信息来无线传输解码的结果信号到预定设备。
9、按照权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于频道信息是对应于想要的节目的子频道信息。
10、按照权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于遥控器按照蓝牙局域无线通信方法无线传输请求的频道信息和对应的电视机标识信息到所述机顶盒。
