Abstract

技术背景

发明内容

自动化包装生产比书芯的光栅图像处理需要更多的数据。为了生产包装,生产装置不仅需要印刷到包装上的内容,还需要用于包装的每个切面的结构参数和尺寸。然而,将所有这些特征都包含在条形码中将是不切实际的,这是由于包含所有编码形式的数据会要求由此所产生的条形码必须不合理地大。此外,维持具有所有可能的包装结构设计和大小的数据库是不切实际的,这是由于如果是这样的话,用户将不能在小到一个单个单元的运行长度创建真正意义上的个性化包装。

处理器将审查解码的数据以至少确定包装尺寸305和包装结构参数307。这些数据点可根据元数据、根据在条形码中的位置、根据与数据相关联的页眉的格式、或通过任何其他适当的方式来确定。包装尺寸305可包括二维包装板材的最大高度和/或宽度(x坐标和y坐标)、最小高度和/或宽度、或任何其他的尺寸。结构参数包括307可包括包装类型和/或包装的一个或多个切面的标志,如对称性或形状。这些参数可包括侧面、盖、凸缘或其他的切面,可选地连同关于切面的形状的描述性的元素:如矩形、正方形、三角形、或圆形。可选地,解码的数据还可产生可由处理器使用以在承印物上确定点的参考点309。参考点可包括一个或多个坐标,如对应于未切割的承印物的底部左角之上x英寸处和该角右边y英寸处的位置的坐标。替代地,每个承印物可以有参考缺省点,如承印物的中心点,角落上的点。在任何情况下,结构参数可以可选地包含相对于参考点的距离。例如,如果参考点为未切割的承印物的中心,那么结构参数可指示矩形切面具有被定位为中心点之右两英寸、中心点之上5英寸的左上角。
在一些实施方式中,编码的数据也包括用于计算额外的切面和这些切面的位置的算法311。例如,如果编码的数据描述了封闭的盒,那么可能有额外的数据指示要使用具有悬垂侧面的盖。如果是这样的话,那么处理器可使用算法以处理来自条形码的数据,并确定剩余的结构特征313。
替代地,该系统可使用已知的信息来确定来自存储在与处理器通信的计算机可读存储器中的数据库的模板315。所述模板可包括允许处理器确定其他哪些切面应当根据已知的信息产生的规则集合。所述模板也可包括一个或多个算法,或一个或多个标准的选择。然后,该处理器可以应用条码数据到模板317以确定剩余的结构参数。
举例而言,参照图4,如果结构参数表明三维包装是三角柱401,那么条形码也可以包括表明包装包括具有四英寸的底座边缘407的三角切面405的数据。该些数据还可表明将形成包装的切割的二维板材的整个宽度和高度是10英寸高,10英寸宽。如果这样的话,那么模板可包括规则集合,所述规则集合指明剩余的结构特征将包括相邻于基底边缘407的第一切面411,且所述第一面具有对应于整体高度(10英寸)的高度和对应于基底的宽度的宽度。然后处理器可根据包含于模板中的规则,确定剩余的结构特征还需要两个切面413,其每个沿10英寸的边缘相邻于第一切面411并沿两侧相邻于三角切面405。每个侧切面413的高度将等于总高度(10英寸),每个侧切面413的宽度将等于(总宽度-三角形的底宽度)/2,或3英寸。
可选地,所述模板还可指明一个或多个凸缘(未示出)应当被连接到三角切面或矩形切面中的任一个。该模板根据凸缘连接到的切面的尺寸来定义每个凸缘的高度、宽度和其它特征。根据包装的总体尺寸不同,凸缘和/或盖的数量、以及它们的位置可能发生变化。例如,参考图1,正方盒的模板可包括规则,该规则规定如果侧面18的长度为十英寸或以下,则两凸缘17应沿侧面18的外缘定位,每个被定位离侧面18的外角3英寸。另一方面,如果侧面18的长度超过十英寸但不超过二十英寸,则该规则可能是需要三个凸缘17,其中的一个将沿侧面18的边缘居中。
此外,如果该柱是封闭的柱,那么模板可指示应当提供具有尺寸等于第一三角切面405的尺寸的第二三角切面。图5示出了这些特征如何在二维包装板材上展示的例子。除了图4中所示的特征以外,图5也示出了第二侧切面423和第二三角切面425。
在这种方式中,该系统可使用条形码数据以识别包装的切面,以及每个切面的尺寸,而不要求所有的数据要被编码在条形码中,或存储在特定包装数据文件中。在一些实施方式中,在条形码中将需要不超过10个字符、11个字符、或者12个字符。例如,第一个字符可以用来确定介质结构类型(立方体、三角形盒401、高密度光盘盒,等),接下来的3个字符可用于确定包装的整体的第一维度(例如,宽度或沿x轴的距离),接下来的三个字符可以用于确定包装的整体的第二维度(例如,高度或沿y轴的距离),接下来的三个字符可用于识别包装的整体的第三维度(例如,深度或沿z轴的距离)。最后一个字符可以描述要使用的盖的类型。根据这些信息,当切割线和折叠线将应用到包装板材时,算法可使用由第一个字符随同其余的数据所指示的模板的规则来确定相应的切割线和折叠线的几何形状。
返回到图3,在系统确定包装板材和其切面的尺寸之后,系统可定义包装产生装置可使用来施加切割线和/或折叠线到承印物的切割和/或刻痕指令集合319,并保存这些指令到计算机可读存储器(如包装产生文件)。这可由系统通过以下步骤来实施:从指令数据库检索每个切面的边缘的指令组,根据包装中每个切面的相对位置必要时改变这些组,然后将每个检索的组结合到包装板材的整体的指令集合。该指令可包括一系列的指令以(a)施加切割线或折叠线到承印物,或(b)将工具移动到承印物上的新的位置而不改变承印物。例如,参考图5,制作盖405的指令可包括指令以:(1)移动切割器到盖的侧面421和413的交叉点,(2)从该交叉点到侧面421和422的交叉点施加另一直线切割,以及(3)从该交叉点到侧面422和423的交叉点施加另一直线切割,和(4)从该交叉点到侧面413和421的交叉点施加直线折痕。该系统可根据每个切面边缘是否是包装板材的外边缘(这种情况下,应该施用切割),或者根据该每个切面边缘是否毗邻于另一切面(这种情况下,应该施用折痕),确定该每个切面边缘(或其任何部分)的特定指令应当是直线还是折痕(line or crease)。

根据所述第一切面的所述尺寸和所述额外的切面的所述尺寸定义切割指令的集合;以及
用自动化包装产生装置,通过使用切割装置来应用所述切割指令到承印物上以得到所述包装板材,产生包装。
