Abstract

连接器
本申请是申请日为2004年4月26日、申请号为200410038413.5、发明名称为“连接器”的发明专利申请的分案申请。
技术领域
本发明涉及一种连接器,特别地讲,本发明涉及一种电连接器,例如用在小型电器上的电连接器。
背景技术
作为示例,在与计算机相关的电子设备中,电气连接器件可由多种不同的方式构成,在这些电气连接器件中,有的用于连接到交流电适配器上,有的用于连接到接口等上。这种电气连接器件通常由包含一个插座(承插部分)端连接器元件和一个插头(插入部分)端连接器元件的连接器构成。插头端连接器元件插入到插座端连接器元件中并且相连,以在它们之间形成电连接,由此使两端连接器中的针状管脚电极彼此连接起来。
更具体地讲,连接器通常在它们的金属壳体上包含多个管脚(或者叫端子)。这些管脚沿连接器的纵向平行排列,并且用聚酰胺、LCP(液晶聚合物)等绝缘材料来固定。插座端和插头端连接器元件的管脚并排相隔地沿着连接器元件彼此配合的方向设置。
在将插头端连接器元件插入到插座端连接器元件中时,必须使两连接器元件的各自的管脚彼此沿直线对准。也就是说,在两连接器元件的前端相互接触以实现连接时,必须避免连接器元件彼此歪斜。如果如图10所示插头端连接器元件相对于插座端连接器元件以倾斜姿势插入到插座端连接器元件中,则管脚的连接(如附图标记100所表示的地方)就会不正常,如图10中的放大图所示,这会产生很多问题,比如说短路。
此外,当插头端连接器元件以倾斜的姿势与插座端连接器元件连接时(尤其是当两者尺寸不同时容易出现这种现象),把插头端连接器元件从插座端连接器元件上拔下来就有点困难了,偶尔还要在插头端连接器元件的壳体上施加力度很大的反复作用的扭转,这很容易损坏插头端和插座端连接器元件的管脚和壳体。
因此,尽管两连接器元件连接时管脚的对准是很重要的,但并不容易实现。当连接器型号很小,并用在小型电器如个人数字助理(PDA)、数码相机、便携式相机等时,这个问题会经常产生。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目的是提供一种电气插接件,它应该容易实现在连接器元件之间准确可靠的连接或组合,以使管脚或电极不致错位。
上述目的是由本发明的一种独特结构来实现的。在本发明中,一个连接器包括第一连接器元件和第二连接器元件,当第二连接器元件被装配到第一连接器元件中时,它们就连接在一起。在本发明中:
第一连接器元件上形成有咬合凸块,其沿着第一连接器元件的深度方向延伸,咬合凸块的前端和第一连接器元件的前沿相隔。
第二连接器元件上形成有咬合狭槽或沟槽,其沿着第二连接器元件的深度方向延伸,当第一连接器元件和第二连接器元件彼此连接时,所述咬合狭槽中容纳着所述第一连接器元件的咬合凸块。
利用上述结构,在将第二连接器元件连接到第一连接器元件上时,第二连接器元件的咬合狭槽的前端在第一连接器元件的前沿与咬合凸块的前端之间被推进了一段距离,然后第二连接器元件的咬合狭槽的前端和第一连接器元件的咬合凸块咬合起来,然后,在和咬合凸块咬合的咬合狭槽引导之下,第二连接器元件被一直沿第一连接器元件的深度方向向第一连接器元件的后侧推进。因此,即使第二连接器元件在连接过程中的最初阶段是斜着插入第一连接器元件的,随着第二连接器元件被推进到第一连接器元件的后部,这个倾斜姿势也可以被第一连接器元件的咬合凸块修正,从而确保在内部带有管脚(电极)的第一和第二连接器元件彼此直线对准。

具体实施方式
本发明的连接器包含一个第一连接器本体20(插座端连接器元件)和一个第二连接器本体40(插头端连接器元件)。
如图1和2所示,第一和第二连接器本体20和40分别包含一个相对扁平的盒状壳体22和42,所述壳体由金属制成并且在其内部包含多个管脚或细长电极,它们分别由附图标记24和44表示。一种绝缘材料(未示出)填充在管脚之间,以固定管脚24和44的位置。
如图4中所示,第一连接器本体20的壳体22包括:顶壳板22A、底壳板22B以及侧壳板22C,如此就形成了一个具有预定深度22D(图3所示)的盒子形状,深度22D从第一连接器本体20的前沿20A延伸到后沿20B。第一连接器本体20的管脚24沿着与深度22D平行的方向分布。
第一连接器本体20的壳体22的顶壳板22A上有咬合凸块30。每个咬合凸块30是通过将顶壳板22A切割成带棱角的“C”形而形成的,所产生的舌状块22E弯向壳体22的内侧。舌状块22E呈现为第一连接器本体20的壳体22上的沿第一连接器本体20的深度22D方向上延伸的细长部分的形状,并且与第一连接器本体壳体20的侧壳板22C或与顶壳板22A的侧沿22A’平行。
舌状块22E在这样的位置弯折,该位置距第一连接器本体的壳体20的侧壳板22C或距第一连接器本体壳体20的顶壳板侧沿22A’的距离是22W,这样就形成了咬合凸块30。咬合凸块30距第一连接器本体的壳体20的前沿20A的距离是L。也就是说,咬合凸块30的前端32与第一连接器本体的壳体20的前沿20A中间有一段距离。咬合凸块的长度是30L,在图示的实施例中,该长度大约是第一连接器本体的壳体20的深度22D的三分之二。
另一方面,如图6所示,第二连接器本体40的壳体42包括:顶壳板42A、底壳板42B以及侧壳板42C,如此就形成了具有预定深度42D(图6所示)的盒子形状,深度42D从第二连接器本体40的前沿40A延伸到后沿40B。第二连接器本体40的壳体42的整体尺寸较之第一连接器本体20的壳体22略小,以使第二连接器本体40能从第一连接器20的前侧装配到第一连接器本体20中。第二连接器本体40的管脚44与深度42D的方向平行分布。
第二连接器本体40的壳体42在其顶壳板42A上形成有咬合狭槽50。每个咬合狭槽都是沿直线切割顶壳板42A而得到的,以使咬合狭槽50平行地靠近侧板42C或靠近顶壳板42A的侧沿42A’。一种替代性结构是在壳体42被制作时在壳体42中成型出咬合狭槽50。咬合狭槽50沿着第二连接器本体40的壳体42的深度42D方向延伸。也就是说,咬合狭槽50的前端52是在第二连接器本体40的前沿40A上。咬合狭槽50的长度是50L,在图示的实施例中,该长度大约是第二连接器本体40的深度42D的三分之二,比第一连接器本体20的咬合凸块30稍长一些。
咬合狭槽50开在距第二连接器本体40的侧壳板42C或距顶壳板42A的侧沿42A’的距离为42W处。此距离42W与第一连接器本体20的咬合凸块30的距离22W基本相等。因此,咬合狭槽50与第一连接器本体20的咬合凸块30在位置上就能相对应了。
咬合狭槽50的宽度W基本上等于或略大于舌状块22E(咬合凸块30)的厚度,该厚度就是第一连接器本体20的金属壳体22的厚度。
图2中的附图标记60是向外凸起的弹性保持件,它是通过在第二连接器本体40的顶壳板42A上开槽并向外抬起而形成的。
如前所述构造的第二连接器本体20和40是通过壳体22和42的前端的配合来实现的连接的。
更具体地讲,如图7所示,第二连接器本体40的后沿40B一般和一个插头组件60相连,该插头组件60例如与电缆(未表出)连接在一起,该第二连接器本体40被手持并插入到安装在诸如个人数字助理等的保护性壳体中的第一连接器本体20之中。
作为插头端连接器元件的第二连接器本体40的前沿40A被设置成面对着作为插座端连接器元件的第一连接器本体20的前端20A,以使第二连接器本体20和40在深度方向上彼此对准(以使连接器本体20和40上的管脚24和44彼此对准)。在这种定位状态下,由于第二连接器本体20和40上的距离22W和42W基本相等,因此第一连接器本体20的咬合凸块30与第二连接器本体40的咬合狭槽50能够沿假想的直线彼此对准。
然后,如图8中的箭头所示,第二连接器本体40被推入到第一连接器本体20中。在第二连接器本体最初推入的过程中,第二连接器本体40的壳体42的外表面由第一连接器本体20的壳体22的内表面来引导。在被推进了距离L之后,第二连接器本体40的咬合狭槽50就和第一连接器本体20的咬合凸块30咬合起来,L就是第一连接器本体20的咬合凸块30的前沿20A到前端32这段距离。结果,第二连接器本体40在深度22D的方向上向第一连接器本体20的后沿20B的滑动是由咬合凸块30来引导的。第二连接器本体40因此而被直线推入到第一连接器本体20中,其中两连接器本体的管脚彼此对准,并且第二连接器本体40被连接到第一连接器本体20(如图9所示,由于第二连接器本体40在第一连接器本体20内部,故不可见)。第二连接器本体40由向外凸起的弹性保持件60保持在第一连接器本体内部,保持件60压紧第一连接器本体20的顶壳板22A的内表面。
每个咬合狭槽50的宽度W基本上等于或略大于咬合凸块30的厚度,如此一来,咬合凸块30在与咬合狭槽50长度方向垂直的方向即第二连接器本体20和40相结合的方向上就基本没有游动间隙。因此,第二连接器本体40的咬合狭槽50在滑动时就不会有侧移,并由咬合凸块30和咬合狭槽50使之保持直线对准。
由于上述结构,即使在最初连接阶段中第二连接器本体40相对于第一连接器本体20是倾斜的,随着第二连接器本体40被推入到第一连接器本体20中,这种倾斜的姿势也会自动修正为笔直的位置关系,从而实现第一连接器本体20和第二连接器本体40之间的密合可靠的结合,第一和第二连接器本体20和40的管脚24和44也就实现了适当的连接。咬合凸块30和咬合狭槽50分别形成在第一连接器本体20的侧沿22A’和第二连接器本体40的侧沿42A’的附近;因此,连接器本体20和40之间的连接可以以稳定的方式实现,而且相连的连接器本体之间的拆开也比较容易实现。

Claims (10)

1.一种插座连接器,包括:
壳体;以及
从壳体延伸的至少一个凸块,所述至少一个凸块包括多个向下延伸的舌状块,其中,所述至少一个凸块用于引导所述插座连接器,以使插座连接器与另一连接器的触点正确对准。
2.一种装置,包括:
一个器件;以及
与所述器件相连的插座连接器,所述插座连接器包括:
壳体;以及
从壳体延伸的至少一个凸块,所述至少一个凸块包括多个向下延伸的舌状块,其中,所述至少一个凸块用于引导所述插座连接器,以使插座连接器与另一连接器的触点对准。
3.一种插座连接器,包括:
金属壳体,所述金属壳体构成为相对扁平的盒状,其中所述金属壳体包括一个顶壳板、一个底壳板以及两个侧壳板;以及
从所述顶壳板延伸的第一和第二凸块,其中,所述第一和第二凸块中的每个分别从连接器的内部突出并且沿着连接器深度方向延伸,所述第一和第二凸块中的每个分别包括两个对置的向下弯折的舌状块,所述第一和第二凸块用于引导所述插座连接器,以使插座连接器与另一连接器的触点正确对准。
4.一种装置,包括:
一个器件;以及
与所述器件相连的连接器,所述连接器包括:
壳体;
位于壳体中的多个触点;以及
从壳体延伸的至少一个凸块,所述至少一个凸块分别包括至少一个向下延伸的舌状块,其中,所述至少一个凸块用于引导所述插座连接器,以使所述多个触点与另一连接器的触点正确对准。
5.如权利要求4所述的装置,其特征在于,所述至少一个凸块从连接器的内部突出并且沿着连接器深度方向延伸。
6.如权利要求4所述的装置,其特征在于,所述壳体包括金属壳体。
7.如权利要求4所述的装置,其特征在于,所述壳体构成为相对扁平的盒状。
8.如权利要求4所述的装置,其特征在于,所述壳体包括一个顶壳板、一个底壳板以及两个侧壳板。
9.如权利要求4所述的装置,其特征在于,所述多个管脚基本上平行于金属壳体的深度方向。
10.一种连接器,包括:
金属壳体,所述金属壳体构成为相对扁平的盒状,其中所述金属壳体包括一个顶壳板、一个底壳板以及两个侧壳板;
位于所述金属壳体中的多个触点,其中所述多个触点基本上平行于金属壳体的深度方向;以及
从所述顶壳板延伸的第一和第二凸块,其中,所述第一和第二凸块中的每个分别从连接器的内部突出并且沿着连接器深度方向延伸,所述第一和第二凸块中的每个分别包括两个对置的向下弯折的舌状块,所述第一和第二凸块用于引导所述连接器,以使所述多个触点与另一连接器的触点正确对准。
