Description
Title: DIAGNOSTIC METHOD ON THE INTERNET
Applicant: John Voudouris Inventor: John Voudouris Enclosed please find the online diagnostic method on the Internet that I wish to patent informally and that I intend to convert into a product form to benefit the general public's knowledge and dental health through orthodontic treatment.
Ortho Advice.com is a method by which a busy parent with a child, or an adult patient obtains an orthodontic consultation with a certified orthodontic professional within the comfort of their home without ever leaving home.
The patient logs onto OrthoAdvice.com site and reviews the credentials of the orthodontists) including his professional degrees, professional achievements, clinical experience, professional office location and other information.
After completing confidentially a medical-dental patient history form, the patient is able to request over the website (for a small fee) that a photographic record be taken of their child in the presence of the parent at all times by a mobile professional photographer using a special digital camera. These photographs consist of three facial and at least 5 dental photographs including "top" views of the upper and lower dental arches. The photoimages can also be transferred by a pre-mounted video camera on the patient's computer.
The digital photoimages are then downloaded to the Ortho Advice.com site for review by the orthodontic specialist for the preliminary opinion as to the type of treatment. ( retainer or braces needed) amount of time required for treatment and the professional fees. Other information can be provided including the type of retainer needed and the treatment to maintain the alignment, special dietary consideration and other instructions needed for braces.
If the patient is pleased with the free opinion they can next log directly on the specific orthodontist's site to ask any further questions or to make an appointment for the assembly of the further orthodontic records required such as diagnostic radiographs, study models, and bite registration. This initial online diagnostic method can be licensed to other orthodontists worldwide to be used as a form of educating the busy public of the possibilities of improving their dental health through orthodontic treatment.
With over 8,000 Orthodontists worldwide and a greater access to orthodontic treatment with OrthoAdvice.com, the market for this technology is enormous. I am convinced that since numerous Orthodontists already have websites worldwide for patients this is simply an excellent extension of service for patients that is completely innovative.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could please contact me if you should have any further questions regarding the informal patent process. Thank you kindly.
