Doodle 4 Google – “I love football”

Age

The competition is open to all young people aged 4–17 years who live in the UK.

Doodle theme

At Google we love sports, so this year the drawing competition is about the passion for a great sport, football. One of the most played and followed sports in the world, football has its own culture that goes beyond frontiers or teams so we are looking forward to seeing the creative interpretations that participants will submit to represent their passion for football. It is important to note that Doodle 4 Google – I love football is not about supporting one team or country over another, it’s about the passion for football that gathers people around TV sets or in stadiums, around the world.

Doodle title

In addition to producing a doodle, participants also need to give a title for their doodle. This title can be up to 30 words long and should explain the participant’s interpretation of the Google logo in line with the theme of the contest: “I love football”.

Submitting entries – follow these carefully

• When you know the doodle you want to draw, download and use the Google logo guide that also act as an entry and parents or legal guardian consent form.
• When you are ready to submit your entry, please send us your drawing on an A4 sheet. We recommend you use this template.
• There is a limit of one entry per participant.

• Post your drawing to this address by 9th May 2010:

  • Doodle 4 Google Entries, PO Box 14, London, SE16 2DF

• We must receive doodle entries by 10th May 2010, no later than 11:59:59 PM (local time).

• All submissions must comprise the information listed in the entry form and a doodle (once again, we recommend that you use this template).
• Your I Love Football entry must include all the required information listed on the entry form on the page where the doodle is drawn.
• If not participating as part of a school, the parent’s consent (part of the entry form), must be fully filled and signed by the artist’s parent or legal guardian.

Design guidelines – follow these carefully

• The doodle should be presented on a white, landscape sheet of A4 paper.
• Download the Google logo template and entry form to use as a guide.
• As the winning doodle will be displayed on the Google homepage, please ensure that the Google logo is clearly visible and recognisable.
• The doodle can be in pencil, crayons, felt tip, paint, or can be done using computer drawing or design software.
• Unfortunately we cannot accept 3D entries.
• The doodle must not show any representation, logo or symbol of a specific country or a team or a sporting event such as: Football teams badges, country flags, football tournaments symbols or logos or mascot. (Such doodles will be disqualified to compete.)

Entry Deadline

• Doodle entries are due to arrive at the designated address by 10th May 2010 no later than 11:59:59 PM (local time).

• Please allow a few days for arrival of your post, we will not be able to accept doodles that arrive at out address after this date.
