What's it like to work in London?
Google’s U.K. office in London has grown to be a busy mix of technical Googlers, direct advertising sales and a variety of other essential business and administrative functions.
Our direct advertising sales teams offer support across several industries including retail, media and entertainment, finance, travel, automotive, business and industrial, technology and consumer products, and healthcare. Human resources, finance, legal, facilities, marketing, communications, business development and corporate development staff also work at Google London.
Google London is the second largest engineering office in Europe (after Google Zurich) and is the centre for mobile application development. Our engineers are dedicated to developing a range of products, including next-generation mobile applications, information-retrieval algorithms, large-scale cluster computing, systems software and innovative search products. Others are responsible for internal systems, quality assurance and still others see to product management, partner solutions and infrastructure engineering. We also have graduate opportunities in many of these areas.

Mobile Applications
We focus on building next generation mobile applications for Android, iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch), BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows Mobile and mobile web apps. Our teams are involved in a number of areas including next-generation mobile applications that use cutting edge Web technologies, location based services and our unique massive scale infrastructure. Recent applications developed and released by the London Mobile team include Google Maps for Mobile with My Location and Voice Search, Google Mobile Application for iPhone and YouTube for mobile.
AdSense
AdSense is an integral part of the Google advertising infrastructure as it enables publishers to earn revenue by showing content relevant ads on their site. The London AdSense team focuses on providing publishers with the best possible experience for setting up and managing the ads part of their business.
Television and YouTube
Television remains the single most important source of information and entertainment for billions of people around the world. We can improve this vital medium by helping match advertisers to operators and programmers, delivering more relevant ads to viewers, providing more accurate and timely reporting on TV viewership and creating automated online services to improve the efficiency of the marketplace.

Google London is working on critical production applications and infrastructure to ensure Google is always fast, available, scalable and engineered to withstand unparalleled demand. We are in the thick of solving the [often unexpected] problems of systems at scale in a way most engineers never experience. We design and develop systems to run Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Voice, AppEngine, and more.

London City Life
London is a city that needs no introduction. It is known as the Capital of Capitals, and for good reason. No other city can outdo us, whether it’s the diversity of our population, the selection of musical and dramatic theatre, our rich culture and history, best-in-class museums (most of them are free to enter!), the endless variety of exciting nightlife, renowned world-class restaurants, farmers markets and shopping. The Google London office is located in the middle of all of this action - right beside Victoria Station - so it is convenient to get to by tube, train, bus, bicycle or foot from wherever you decide to live.
