Information for Schools
The competition has now closed. Many thanks to all schools that have sent us their doodles.

Unfortunately we were only able to accept 6 entries per school. However, we are aware that there were many more excellent doodles produced that were not entered because of this limit. We are delighted that so many students were able to take part in the competition even if their doodle wasn't entered. Below is a Doodle 4 Google certificate for teachers to download and print. Please award it at your discretion to the best Google Doodlers in your school.

The 'Doodle 4 Google – My Britain' competition is open to all students attending schools in the UK between the ages of 4 and 18. Doodles will be judged in the following three age brackets:

  • 4 - 8 years old
  • 9 - 13 years old
  • 14 - 18 years old

School Pack

The School Pack is the essential guide for teachers. It has all the information needed to enter the competition and also includes lesson plans.

The detailed, timed lesson plans provide creative inspiration for how to incorporate the competition and its theme into Art & Design, English, ICT and Citizenship classes and cover Key Stages 1-4 and above.

Register Your School

Registrations for the competition have now closed. If you have already registered your school, please submit your entries by 14 July.

Entering the Competition

Students must enter through their school. Unfortunately we cannot accept entries from students directly.

There is a limit of six entries per school. To help select the six best doodles, why not hold a competition in your school? Please bear in mind the judging criteria outlined on the Judging & Prizes page when choosing your entries. If your school covers more than one age group please try to represent an even spread of ages.

Doodles must be submitted with a completed Doodle Entry Form. This can be found in the School Pack. On this form students will need to provide the title of the doodle (5 words maximum) and a supporting statement about the image of Britain they have portrayed (50 words maximum).

Submit your entries by 14 July 2006.
