This gadget, while sometimes showing the wonders of this earth, usually shows items like a power plant with the text telling how evil we are. We meaning USA usually and Western Civilization generally. Forgetting that China [#1 energy user] and India [up and coming] and Russia [don't even get me started on the nearly continent size environmental clean-up site] contribute more than their fair share of the damage. This is a political gadget and I grow tired of it. "Amazing Photos of Places to See Before You Die" is better.
Thank you Yann and thank you Google, today of all days I needed a new view. While I have your attention and we are talking about saving the planet, please Google the Xpoondiggy, XP protest/press rally today on the Xpoondiggy Reservation.
The idea is great and most of the time the photos are great. But... sometimes the photo doesn't load, or they make no sense. A photo of the entrance to Petra entitled "The Grand Siq" makes no sense and it appears for several days.
Earth From Above is one of my favorites. Great that I can have it on my computer all the time now! Also, if you want to have a bit of a laugh while learning a little more about how to help save the planet, check out the 40+ fun videos at YERT.com (Your Environmental Road Trip).

I deleted this from my desktop because I got so sick of the ultra-green, largely baseless propaganda that goes with each and every photo.

My only suggestion would be a link to wikipedia on each of the natural or man-made wonders we see each day.
