advertisements on my igoogle homepage : (thomas patterson - Jan 21, 2009 - Report this comment
i recently started to notice unsolicited & unwanted advertisements on my igoogle home page. this is beyond lame & contradicts everything that has appealed to me thus far about google. does anyone know how to get rid of these adds.
Remember when Google had just a clean little homepage? Now there's a frickin' ad on my iGoggle. WTF? This is bullshit. That gadget is outta here. Lame, Google, for letting this get through.
Jesus, all I wanted to do was add a dictionary; but the comments are so impasioned (see, that's why I need the dictionary) I'll have to check this out.
I especially like the flexibility of being able to choose a default source. I can't understand why some people complain about the ad. It's a small price to pay for such a useful and flexible gadget. I checked out dozens of other similiar gadgets and didn't find another that was as good as this one. If you don't like it, stop whining, delete it and move on.
there seem to be much better dictionary services that don't default to one that tries to sell you "premium" service in order to get any useful information. And the ads suck. I'm removing this gadget - waste of time, space and electrons
When I go to iGoogle, the entry box on the gadget doesn't appear until I click on the "settings" button. This is mighty annoying. I also don't like the ads.

Add the gadget and you will get multiple pop-up ads! Bookmark Dictionary.com instead.
Forget it. It has ads.
