Description

Entropic Communications, Inc. provides semiconductor solutions for the connected home. Its Set-top Box (STB), System-on-a-Chip (SoC), and home connectivity, or connectivity, solutions enable global pay-television (TV) operators to offer consumers whole-home entertainment experiences. It offers a portfolio of STB, SoC and Connectivity solutions that include STB SoC Solutions and Connectivity Solutions. Its STB products consist of STB SoCs, but also include DOCSIS modems, interface devices and media processors. Its Connectivity solutions enable access to broadcast and Internet protocol television (IPTV) services, as well as deliver and distribute other media content, such as movies, music, games and photos, and include Home networking solutions, High-speed broadband access solutions, and Direct Broadcast Satellite outdoor unit (DBS ODU) solutions. In July 2012, it acquired specific direct broadcast satellite intellectual property and corresponding technologies from PLX Technology, Inc.
