Already a player in the telecommunications game, Chess tries to position itself on the playing board as the "smarter telecoms" company. Through partnerships with network operators, Chess (which also does business as Chess Telecoms) resells standard telecom services, including voice, data, and wireless services, for business and residential customers. Partners include BT, Cable & Wireless, O2, and Vodafone among others. The company also acts as a virtual network operator and ISP, selling wholesale services to voice and data network resellers, and it sells wireless devices from leading manufacturers including Nokia and BlackBerry. Commercial clients have included IKEA and Safeway. Chess was founded in 1993.
