Nihon Inter Electronics Corporation is a Japan-based company principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of power semiconductors. Together with its subsidiaries, the Company operates three business segments. Discrete Products segment manufactures and sells schottky barrier diodes (SBDs), fast recovery epitaxial diodes (FREDs), consumer low-voltage rectifying diodes and others. Module Products segment manufactures and sells middle and high-voltage rectifying diodes, thyristors, power modules, stacks, industrial low-voltage rectifying diodes and others. Commercial Goods segment sells active-type liquid crystal devices, photoelectric conversion elements, assemblies and others. As of March 31, 2012, the Company had six consolidated subsidiaries. On April 1, 2013, it established an Ibaraki Prefecture-based wholly owned subsidiary, then transferred its front-end semiconductor manufacturing capabilities for schottky barrier diodes, fast recovery epitaxial diodes and thyristors to it.
