IWASAKI ELECTRIC CO., LTD. is mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of various light sources and electrical machinery and apparatus. The Company operates in two businesses segments. The Lighting segment in involved in the manufacture and sale of high-intensity discharge lamps for lighting, ballasts, light-emitting diode (LED), lighting fixtures and equipment for facilities, and other general lighting products. The Light Application segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of light sources and equipment for special applications, such as light sources for video, water purification, sterilization, modification and curing, and medical care applications; electron beam irradiation apparatus, such as modification and sterilization applications, as well as information equipment, such as road information equipment, information technology (IT) products and electronic components. On April 1, 2013, as surviving company, it merged with a Tokyo-based wholly owned subsidiary.
