South Port New Zealand Limited (South Port) is a commercial port in New Zealand. South Port offers full-container, break-bulk and bulk cargo capability. The Company services cargoes for import, such as alumina, petroleum products, fertilizer, acid and fish, and export, such as aluminum, timber, logs, dairy, meat by-products and woodchips. South Port has divided its land-based operating resource into four divisions: warehousing and packing, containers, cool and cold storage, and dairy. The Company undertakes its primary port operation on a 40-hectare Island harbor situated at Bluff. It services vessels carrying approximately one million tons of cargo destined for movement across the Tiwai Wharf each year. South Port operates a separate furl berth at Bluff Town Wharf plus provides the Tiwai Wharf facility to New Zealand Aluminium Smelters (NZAS) under a long term licence.
