Description

Luxottica Group SpA is an Italy-based company engaged in optical industry. It designs, manufactures and distributes prescription frames, sports eyewear and sunglasses. Luxottica Group SpA operates through two industry segments. The Manufacturing and Wholesale Distribution segment is engaged in the design, manufacture, wholesale distribution and marketing of house and designer lines of prescription frames and sunglasses, as well as of performance optics products. The Retail Distribution segment operates through retail brands, including LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, OPSM, Laubman & Pank, Bright Eyes, Oakley O Stores and Vaults, David Clulow, GMO and stores located within host department stores. The Company�s proprietary brands include Ray-Ban and Vogue, among others, as well as the Company's licensed brands include Bulgari, Burberry, Chanel, Versace, Prada, Stella McCartney, Armani, Tiffany and Dolce & Gabbana, among others. In February 2014, it acquired glasses.com from WellPoint Inc.
