National Express Group PLC is the holding company of the National Express Group of companies. Its subsidiary companies provide mass passenger transport services in the United Kingdom and overseas. The Company�s segments include UK Bus, UK Coach, UK Rail, North American Bus, European Coach & Bus, and Central functions. Its Spanish business, ALSA, operates long distance, regional and urban bus and coach services across Spain and in Morocco. Its business in North America is focused solely on student transportation and operates in 30 states of the United States and four Canadian provinces. National Express is an operator of scheduled coach services in the United Kingdom. The Company operates in the United Kingdom, Spain and North America. As of December 31, 2011, the Company operated over 22,000 vehicles. During the year ended December 31, 2011, the Company acquired a controlling interest in Dainco S.A. In May 2012, it acquired Petermann Partners, Inc.
